Seachem Laboratories 6503 55 Foam Tidal Filter (2 Pack)

Seachem Laboratories 6503 55 Foam Tidal Filter is just what i need for my filter!.....

I use these in my Tidal 55 filter. I use the coarse sponge the filter came with on the bottom, then these two sponges for the 2nd and 3rd layer, and the bio media bag on top. Been using all the same media for over 3 years, still just as effective as when new. I just rinse them in tank water when I do a water change.

Even though it is the same manufacturer, this filter media is better than the the one that came with the complete filter originally. It is a better fit and seems to be a better material.

So glad Seachem makes these to fit perfectly into their filter. They work well but I do wish they were a finer textured sponge. They are however better than the sponge that comes with the filter. These would make a good sponge for bottom layer. I really feel what’s needed is a finer textured sponge to catch more debris for middle layer. Then top with a polishing pad. That would be a perfect combination.

My only question is the longevity. So far so good!

This product works great as designed and as I have a heavily planted tank, it does not clog or need cleaning for quite some time.
