While it's too early to assess how long it'll last, this leak detection and auto shutoff system is well built and works exactly as advertised based upon rigorous testing. The valve immediately closes as soon as the sensor detects any water. We installed it on an expansion tank that has frequently leaked like a fountain in the past with no warning, which could have drained our well and shut down our furnace if we didn't happen to be home at the time. Another sensor sends us a Wi-Fi alert and robotically shuts off the main water supply as a backup using a Tokatuker Wi-Fi valve controller (UPC 750225420182) which is also available on Amazon, works great and is relatively inexpensive. The net result is that the boiler of our furnace can continue to at least sub optimally function until we can repair the tank.

Requires solid plumbing experience for full and safe installation. If this is your first installation, try this in a non very important waterline first. ( washing machine in the basement, sink or dishwasher) Test it a few times by having another shut off valve in the vicinity to avoid malfunctions or any water leaks due to either improper installation or item failure. Ours are working properly for quite a long time and have been doing the right thing under real water leak detection.

Like like this system. Less expensive than the other brand. I only used one of the valves

Peace of mind when you leave. Only wish it had a wifi ability.

Easy to install if you get proper 3/4 threads on your pipe or just use a compressed fitting connector. Saved my basement in one case of leaking water heater. Great investment!
