1 Month Review! I use it daily for commute to and from work a total of 8.4 miles. Battery life, depends on a lot of factors (think cell phone battery), how fast you ride the scooter, weight of the person , wind conditions, and the road it self. I say this because I've tested it all. If I'm going against the wind at full speed by the time I get to work the battery can be already at 50% or less and I just charge it again . But I have also seen with the wind on my back the battery is barely used. For my experience I've gotten 10 to 13 miles on 1 charge. Ride comfort - do you feel bumps , yes it's like a skateboard but not as hard there is some shock absorption. It's a fun ride as I like to jump some of the bumps and cracks. But it's not an off road scooter , you can go thru grass but makes sure it's not wet or muddy. With my back pack I weigh 140 pounds. Just something to factor in. Speed - just as its advertised, hills for me i can get speeds of 15mph, down hill I've only gotten as high as 18-19mph. Pick up speed is very good for me. Of course I wish it was faster but definitely has saved me money and time. Looks - I love the way it looks especially the led floor boards lights, its gives it a modern , simplistic edgy look and plenty of people look at it and have me questions about it. Brakes- personally have not had any issues yet, stops when needed with just a touch , I also anticipate when riding. When it has rained and streets are wet, break do loose a bit of grip, but that understandable. App- dont really use it , it's nice added bonus. Portability - my only complaint is the locking mechanism , when its folded. It's just a hook and you can definitely carry and works fine but if you lay it on side, will become unhooked and move. Other then that I take it to the grocery store to pick up some quick items in the evening when traffic dies , ride the streets and just place the scooter folded in my cart at the store. Wheels - no issues Lights - only wish the front main light was adjustable but I like the red led lights. Price Point - for the 350w battery scooter and features that you get like the led lights, speed, main front light and the app. It's perfect for me. Overall - great looking scooter, solid build , def worth the money. There was many options but portability, battery size , looks and price point made this a win for me. Def would recommend, do your research and check out the videos on other apps.

What I gathered about almost every scooter is that they are using best case situations and not averages for their speed and battery life. More to follow. STarting with setup, the scooter was very easy to set up. A quick look at the directions and a small number of screws (with allan wrenches for some reason) and it was setup. It comes with just enough battery so you can connect via bluetooth and do a quick test but you really should charge it asap. Off a fresh charge, the scooter was zippy. The initial throttle takes a beat to get used to. Brakes are a little less than you would expect so don't overdo it until you master stopping distance. I may be doing something wrong but I never achieve top speeds over 21 km per hour. I'm 185 pounds and 5'11. The batter indicator is also wildy inaccurate. Off a full charge, it dropped to less than half in .5 miles and then while stopped, went back up. This mades me nervous to attempt to go to work on one charge until I realize, hey, it's a scooter, you aren't stuck in the mud if the battery dies :) Still, until I test the full battery life, I really have no idea how far it will go. Overall, the features are as promised. I'd like a bit more top-end speed but the acceleration is adequate in every condition except going up inclines. Perhaps they will be able to squeeze more speed out through a software update (Telsa does it, so one can hope!). This does not seem to be typical cheap Chinese quality and a decent scooter. It'd love to learn about some accessories, if they exist. Hit me up if you have ideas or tricked yours out! *updated 6/9/19 HiBoy customer service has been very responsive via email. They are shipping me a new fender. Make sure you learn these controls Bc it can throttle your scooter. Once I tweaked things, too speed is as it should be. I’m having issues with the battery gauge on the scooter being accurate and customer support is working through it with me. They say they will be giving me a partial refund Bc of my experience so between that and the fender, I’ll be updating to 5 stars if that happens. 7/25/19 - Updated to five starts after receiving my replacement scooter promptly. One note - All scooter manufacturers are going to be overly optimistic with their distance predictions. Keep in mind that they aren't saying what test conditions their predictions based under and you can assume it is with a smaller person. This scooter has some challenges with accurate readings between the battery, voltage and the digital meter. That being said, it's hard for me to know the actual limit. Here is Hi-Boy's response to me on this. Again, this appears to be the case with all scooters I've seen so far so as long as the buyer is paying attention, you'll be fine. As the ranges our products team tested, the scooter could reach 13-15 miles at least, and it will be up to 17+ miles with lighter weight, less hills, and smoother roads. Also, since the battery bar is based on the current voltage, it shows one bar but it actually has 3-4 bars(especially going up hills). You may stop the scooter and the battery will be up and showed correctly after a while. Usually, the scooter can go 3-4.5 miles when it shows one blinking bar. You may update your Hiboy App to newest version, and preset as below, 1. Battery capacity: 7.8ah, 2. Turn Cruise control mode on and 20km/h, 3. Choose Sport Mode, max speed 30km/h. I'm new to scooters so I'm hardly an expert. When I unboxed it, I was very excited until I pulled it out of the box. It was HEAVY. I haven't weighed it but think it might be heavier than my bicycle. Most scooters are in this weight range so this is not abnormal. I've read almost every review here and I was ready to tackle the brake handle adjustment. I don't know why they say its at an awkward position but I did adjust it a tiny bit. Even if I didn't, it would have been fine for me. Also I don't know what they mean that if you screw down the 4 allen screws you will have problems adjusting the brake handle. In any case, that issue was a non-factor in my scooter. Ok now those allen screws. Having been forewarned about stripping them I was extra careful threading them into the holes. 3 of them went in relatively easily but the last one got tight about half way down the screw. I tried to back the screw out and it got "stripped". Since I expected that, I used a set of pliers that I had on hand to back the screw out. Hiboy had included a few extra screws in the packaging, thank you! But before I tried a new screw I remembered how the allen wrench didn't seat all the way down in the screw head. I fished out a real allen wrench from my tool box to try this last screw. I assumed it was metric size and I was right, the Husky wrench fit perfectly and further into the screw head. While the screw was still fighting me I was confident I will not strip this screw. So don't use the cheap wrenches that are included but use sturdy and properly sized wrenches. The right tools make everything easier. The locking latch is near impossible to lock on this scooter. I envisioned that you simply push the stem forward and when the lock engages, it should click in and you just secure it. This lock requires that you kneel down hold the latch with one hand and push the stem with your other hand. You lose all leverage doing it this way. And on my scooter the locking latch will not click. I am squeezing and grunting trying to force the latch and the stem to engage and lock. Unless I am doing it completely wrong, which is entirely possible, this design is horrible. But with enough sweat I can finally get it to lock. Releasing the locking latch is relatively easy and doesn't require much effort. The back fender latch is another poor design. The latch is spring loaded to keep the latch flush with the fender when the scooter is being used. But when you wish to fold the bike and latch it to the back fender, how do you easily get the latch to open so you can slide the hook under it? You can't, because the latch is flush with the fender you have to dig and dig with your fingernails to get some hold of the latch to pull it up. I don't keep my fingernails long so I use one of my house keys to dig under the latch upward which will eventually scratch up the fender. The LED screen works fine and is nice and bright. Although it showed the battery was fully charged the manual says only when the charger brick's light changes from red to green is it fully charged. So I don't know if the battery indicator on the screen is correct or not. I'll trust the charger indicator for now. There were some nicks and scratches on the foot board and the paint on the stem even though everything looked brand new and properly boxed up from the factory. I know this is not a big deal since it will be dirty and scratched after a few rides anyway. I just wanted it to be brand new and perfect when I see it for the first time. The ride itself was awesome! I've ridden the Segway Max a few times before and this feels no different than a $700 scooter. I couldn't tell any difference between the air vs the solid tires but I was riding on very smooth asphalt. There was a tiny bit of stuttering as I was riding, I think this was the motor and not the brake or the wheels. While this was barely perceptible and didn't bother me, I'll keep an eye on this. Braking was fine, it stopped the scooter quickly and I felt safe stopping from top speed. I weight 165lbs and I didn't feel the rear suspension giving out. They worked fine for me and will help smooth the rides out. So, I really liked this scooter and happy this was my first one. I think a lot of the bad designs can be corrected easily in future adjustments to the model. The main thing I would warn a potential buyer is that if you want an simple scooter think twice about the locking and latching in the front and in the rear. If I had to use this everyday, I would be pissed that I have to be fighting the scooter while on my knees every time I needed to fold and unfold the thing. I will be using this for running around here and there, also to ride with friends, so I hope I won't mind it too much. Hiboy, good job on a very nice and affordable scooter but definitely fix some things and I could have given it 5 stars. Updated 12/7: I finally realized there is a big adjustment screw in the folding hinge. It was standing too tall so the screw itself was preventing the folding stem from closing. I turned it clockwise 1 and half turns to lower the screw. This finally allowed the stem to fully close and latched. This really should have been done at the factory because there is no graphic or instruction describing how to do this. Anyway, I'm bumping it to 4 stars for 3 because its that important that all the features work. Updated 12/15: I've used it for several short trips in NYC. Hills are no problem and bumpy pavement doesn't feel too bad for solid wheels. I can only max it at 16mph according to the odometer even though I set the max to 19 on the app. As long as the scooter remains durable I have no problem recommending this.

I work in a downtown city where there's no free parking. In the past, I used to park on the outskirts of downtown, about a mile or 2 from my work building, get my cruiser style hybrid bike out of the back of my truck, and cycle in, or I'd walk it. That got old, and there are days where I just wanted to get to work easier without having to pay a ton for parking closer. So, I decided to research scooters and I found this one. It helped that another person in my work building had one that I know, and she let me take it for a spin to help confirm my plan for buying this one. Hers seemed very nice, good quality, components seemed nice and it was fast. So I decided to go with the HiBoy S2. I've now had it for 8 months, and ride it for about anywhere around 2 to 5 miles per day, sometimes more and I have to say I absolutely love it. I like how the handle bars/stem folds down as it makes for loading it into my truck easier. It folds back up easy, the heavy duty clip connects nice and solidly and it rides very smoothly. I really like the solid non-aired tires so there's no need to worry about flats. The brakes work great, and I get up to 19mph when I'm on a good flat straight away. It goes around 12-15 up hill. It is actually a lot of fun to ride to and from my work building and I actually look forward to using it every time. I think its because this kind of thing wasn't around when I was little and I'm finally getting that joy at a later time in life and it just puts me in a happy place. I've not had a true chance to test how many miles I can get on it, and I think the furthest I've ridden on it, non-stop, on sport mode is around 10 miles. But just didn't want to get stuck out far and have to walk it back if it died. So I can't rate the distance part fully, but will say it definitely goes far enough for my needs of around 2-10 miles on one full charge. The front and back lights are nice and bright, can turn them off or on whenever and easily. I like how it has a red LED strip of lights on the side/bottom, it looks really neat at night time or early morning. The app works easy with the scooter, but I rarely actually find myself using it or needing it. I just turn the scooter on, and go. I've had a ton of folks in my office building ask where I got it, how much it was, how fast it goes, and they all pay compliments on it. If all the sudden I didn't have it anymore, I'd absolutely buy it again, if that helps potential buyers. It was well worth the $429, at least for the 8 months I've used it. And when I say I've used it, I've used it a lot and often. My favorite thing, is taking it for a night time spin around my 1 mile neighborhood loop. I'm 39 years old, 6'2 and weigh about 185-190lbs and I have no issues with it going fast.

I bought this scooter in May 2020. I live in NYC, and given the pandemic I figured I should stay away from the subway and taxies/Uber. The scooter has given me problem after problem from the very beginning. 1. The breaking system is very UNRELIABLE. First of all, even when it works the break is quite weak, and it’s nearly impossible to come to a complete stop in case of emergency. You basically slow down progressively until eventually you come to a stop. But the worst part is that breaking with this scooter is like playing Russian roulette. Occasionally, when you are riding faster than 10 miles/hour and try to break, absolutely NOTHING will happen! You just keep squeezing and pumping on the break and nothing happens! In these occasions the only solution is to jump off the scooter while holding the bars and keep running while holding the scooter until you eventually are able to stop. So I got in the habit to test the breaks while riding, way before approaching a stop, to make sure the breaks were actually working. Of note, I tried to adjust the brake cable many times. This problem was not secondary to a wrong adjustment. It would happen even when the cable was so tight that basically the rear wheel could not even spin completely freely. I should have realized right there and then how dangerous this scooter is. 2. Three months after the purchase the throttle failed. It started with inability to accelerate constantly. Then the scooter would randomly accelerate on its own. Finally, the throttle died completely. I emailed the company, and after some emailing back and forth eventually they sent me a replacement part. 3. Five months after the purchase the rear suspension failed. Screws had come undone, so that the rear wheel was still connected to the frame but was not kept in a fix position. If you tried to mount on the scooter the wheel would tilt all the way up, with the frame very close to the ground. Obviously I did not think it was safe to ride it. I emailed HiBoy, and they immediately sent me the wrong replacement. This is despite the fact that I had included pictures explaining what had gone wrong with the suspension. At any rate, they sent me again a bunch of screws, and with those I was able to fix the rear suspension. 4. Ten months after the purchase, the frame literally failed. It broke in two pieces while I was riding. The worst part is that the scooter broke while I was riding in the middle of an intersection!! I found myself on the ground, with cars coming in my direction as their light had just turned green. I am likely to be alive. I did suffer bruises all over my left side of the body. The worst bruise was just over my left hip. I am 50, so I guess I am also lucky not to fracture any bone. I should also make it very clear, I drive very safely and never used the scooter to do tricks or anything crazy. I always rode in bike lanes to go to work. I weight 187 lbs, so well within the max load allowed of 260 lbs. At this I emailed the company again. I asked for a full refund, or alternatively for a new scooter of better quality. I spent weeks negotiating, and their best offer was to have me pay $270 for a scooter that is currently on sale for $389!! See attached screenshot. The said they would not honor the warranty because it was ALMOST 12 MONTHS since the scooter has been purchased!! When I complained that the warranty was supposed to be valid for 12 months, and not for almost 12 months, the replied they would only cover parts, but not the entire scooter. I am attaching screenshots of their emails. June 12, 2021 Update Given the experience described above, of course I wrote a negative 1-star review on Amazon. I also tried to post the same 1-star review on the HiBoy website, but it would not get published. Then I got the idea of posting the same exact review on the HiBoy website, but giving it 5 stars. This was published immediately. The following day however, I received an email from the HiBoy customer service, telling me that they absolutely cared about their customers' experience, and they were going to send me a new scooter. When I visited their website I noticed my "5-star" review had been removed. After all of this drama, I eventually received a new scooter from HiBoy. At this point the customer service asked me if I could change some of the wording in my Amazon review. So there you have it, this is the update. Of course, I will not be using their replacement scooter. I got a new scooter from Apollo Scooters. I highly recommend Apollo scooters. More expensive, but worth every dime.

I wanted to ride the scooter for a bit and get a feel for its performance before writing a review. I have had a great experience with not only the scooter itself, but the Hiboy company as well. I wrote the company with a question about mileage, and I was impressed with their reply which was quick and thorough. I give their customer service 5 stars, professional and friendly. I got a clear feeling that they genuinely cared about the customer's overall happiness with their product. As far as the scooter itself goes, I couldn't be happier with my purchase. It's a solid, well made scooter. It's sturdy and I feel secure riding it. I had looked at several other scooters, some that had air-filled tires, and I'm glad I went the solid tire route. There have been countless times that I ran over glass that couldn't be avoided, as well as rocks and other sharp objects, and feel that if the tires were air-filled, they most likely would have been pierced and gone flat, which could get expensive. I don't have to worry about flats with the Hiboy tires, and the honeycomb design helps absorb shock. The cruise control works great, and I have found that if set it at 12 mphs in comfort mode, I have been able to get a 20 mile round trip on a single charge, which is more than the 18 miles they advertise, I have been very thrilled by that. Of course there are many factors that go in to that like my weight, about 160, speed I'm going, a very smooth bike path without inclines, no wind and temps in the upper 70's. I'm very happy with the performance and ride the scooter provides. The app is great, very easy to set cruise control, monitor miles travelled, battery power and overall health of the scooter right down to its temp; really great. I have to share that I did not buy the scooter as a weekend toy, or for commuting to work. I am disabled, and have limited mobility. I walk with a cane for short distances, and use a walker for longer distances, but I can only get so far with those things because my pain gets too high and I become too exhausted, so I found myself staying in a lot and missing out on a lot of outings since I do not drive and have to take the bus to get around. Since I got the scooter, I have been able to get out and about like I haven't been able to in far too long. Now I can get to wherever I want to go, whenever I want. It has given me a freedom that has been a real game-changer for me. I can now get to the shopping center down the street in 6 minutes on the scooter, instead of the nearly hour it would take me on the bus, sparing me from much pain and exhaustion in the process. Before the scooter, I found myself skipping out on many activities because I couldn't deal with all the painful bus travel it would entail, but now the scooter has changed all of that for me and I'm able to go where I want quickly and with so much less pain, it has been great and has had such an immensely positive impact on my life; no kidding. I have yet to come across a drawback with the scooter, but am confident that if any issue should arise, it will be deftly and professionally handled by their outstanding customer service. Despite my disability issues, I was already a happy person, but since getting the scooter, I have been walking, or I should say, scooting around on clouds! All in all, I say the scooter, as well as the Hiboy company, are top notch; keep up the good work! I highly recommend the Hiboy scooter, I couldn't be any more pleased with my purchase, worth every penny as far as I'm concerned.

The scooter itself seemed great initially, but I had the following problems that force this negative review: -there is absolutely something wrong with this scooter that makes the rear tire go flat easily, and changing the rear tire is an absolute nightmare, requiring a massive amount of manual effort and tools far beyond something like a bicycle repair -when you change that rear tire, the spare tube intended for the rear tire that comes with the scooter is basically unusuable, the valve stem does not fit and is virtually inaccessible to a pump -somehow by folding the scooter as intended, as it is designed to be folded smashed up the power cord in the steering column, another bad design flaw that made this possible to be destroyed so easily with normal use, Hiboy's customer service was responsive and seemed helpful, but incorrectly was telling me (after I sent in videos and the error code) that the controller deck was broken, they kindly shipped a replacement controller deck but left me with some very complicated repair instructions that no reasonable person would pull off successfully -I took the scooter to an authorized repair facility in Lynwood, CA, the repair facility owner (just a hard working local guy operating a shop who works with a lot of Hiboys who otherwise is not employed by Hiboy but is "authorized" by Hiboy) was very helpful and kind, charging a reasonable $95 amount to successfully diagnose and fix the smashed up power cord, and Hiboy's customer service kindly said they would reimburse me the $95 I paid for that repair as it was under warranty and I used their authorized repair facility and had all the documentation, but for over a month I was told the reimbursement was pending the finance manager signature, I followed up every week but basically gave up after about 1.5 months of being told "sorry the finance manager is still out, we'll reimburse you when they're back", this does not make any sense Do not buy this scooter, or from Hiboy! Edit 3/27/27 - HiBoy customer service made good on the reimbursement of the repair I paid for, and offered me a couple freebies that were of value to me (a cell phone mount for the scooter, an extra charger) as an apology for the lengthy delay. I'm not too happy with this scooter, but their customer service was helpful, and I'm convinced that the big delay on reimbursement was an exceptional case of an accountant who needed to signoff who was just not available for an unusually long time. As such, I up this to 3 stars from 1.

This is a replacement for the first scooter I bought. I originally bought the Swagtron Swagger S5 and it came with a flat front tire. The wheel was an odd size and I couldn't find a replacement tubed tire for it and Swagtron, though nice on the phone, wasn't much help. I took it to a local bike shop to remove the defective tire and try to work something out but this didn't work. Swagtron would not take the scooter back. Amazon refunded $308 of the original cost of $380 and took back the Swagtron scooter. I then bought the Hiboy S2 scooter from Amazon and I am very happy with it in spite of the rear fender breaking a couple of times. This scooter has solid rubber tires with some perforations ini them to soften the ride. It also has a rear spring suspension which adds to the weight but further softens the ride. Hiboy sent me 2 replacement fenders at no cost at all, of the same design, and will have an improved rear fender available next month, which they also promised to send to me at no charge. Their support seems to be excellent. The Hiboy iPhone app is also much better than the Swagtron app. I would definitely buy this scooter again. The nature of these scooters is that they are light, have reasonable battery life, can be transported easily by folding down the handle, are extremely economical [I have heard it said that they can get 100 miles on about $1 worth of electricity], are inherently unstable due to the small diameter tires, and this one has good speed. A helmet should always be used when going any distance on them. I wear a helmet with a rear view mirror attached to it, and flashing lights front and back even in daylight hours. If you turn your head to check for traffic behind you, this act can cause you to lose stability very easily. Both hands should be kept on the controls at all times. If you need to carry something, have it in a backpack or a shoulder bag. The up to 17 miles on a full charge seems to be inflated. I ride mine on the highest speed setting and the battery seems to be almost totally depleted after a little over 7 miles. The terrain I ride on is relatively flat. The charger is small and I usually carry it with me in a shoulder bag, when making a round trip, and plug it into the charger whenever and wherever I can to keep the battery as full as possible. I would definitely buy this scooter again! Update [1/2/20]: 767 miles and going strong!

Después de una semana con el puedo opinar. Positivo . Alcanza los 30 km/h en llanos perfectamente. Peso 70 km. . Autonomía tras una primera carga 17.5 km siempre en modo sport y con luces encendidas. . Plataforma cómoda y amplia. . Muy versátil. Se maneja y maniobra con facilidad. Gira muy bien. . Se vincula con el móvil nada más encender el patinete. Se controla todo desde el móvil. Se puede bloquear lo que le da cierta seguridad ante posibles robos , puesto que se lo tendrían que llevar cogido, y pesa. . Frenada bestial. . Aceleración desde cero bestial. Negativo . Amortiguacion un poco dura. En la publicidad pone que se puede regular pero no veo como. Es muy dura y se nota cualquier irregularidad del suelo. Aunque yendo muy atento y doblando un poco las rodillas se puede tolerar. Supongo que la ventaja de las ruedas rígidas se convierten desventaja para amortiguar. . Pesa mucho para llevarlo cogido mucho tiempo. Pero realmente no es para ello. Simplemente cuando tienes que salvar escaleras. La ventaja es que es más difícil que se lo lleven si lo dejas bloqueado puesto que no rueda e incuestionablemente tienen que llevárselo cogido y no se vería muy lógico. Es disuasorio. Muy buen patinete, además es bonito.

I’ve been using this scooter for 6 months now, and I’m very happy with it. It’s strong, reliable, and handles ramps with ease. One thing worth highlighting is Hiboy’s excellent customer service. After a few months, I had an issue with the throttle (which can happen). I contacted them by email, and they quickly sent me a complete new handle with the throttle and all necessary parts, along with a clear instructional video on how to replace it. Their response was fast, professional, and hassle-free. Highly recommend both the scooter and the company!
