Helps out
This is a great item that helps out with ball joints. Every scenario calls for a different solution, this is a great helper, use a large prybar to help you. The tool won't work on all situations but it's definitely good to have in the tool box

Strong hook tool
Must have tool for any suspension work. I did a press in bearing install for my wife’s Honda CRV and this tool helped get the knuckle out and back in. Used with a long pry bar.

Small and Handy
This is tough as nails. When I got it I couldn't quite figure it out. I knew I would need a pry bar but it didn't come with instructions. The first attempt at using it, the technical mind kicked in immediately and it was simple and effective. Get a long pry bar, strong rod or pipe at least 1.5 times the length of the lower control arm.Instructions:1. Remove ball joint nut (or slacken if you don't have space) and free up ball joint stud from steering knuckle by your regular method.2. Hang the hook on the lower control arm (the hole should be below. the side you choose will depend on the shape of the arm to gain more leverage but it will work on either side if you complete the 3rd step properly).3. Pass your pry bar (or any strong bar/pipe) through the hole.4. Ensure the other end of the pry bar connects properly with the inned part of the lower control arm, so it won't slip.5. Pry downward on the handle of pry bar until the ball joint stud is out of the steering knuckle.. (If there was not enough space to remove the ball joint nut before, back it off, all the way at this step, until you can push the control arm down enough.)6. Pull/push steering knuckle away from ball joint while maintaining a downward force on the pry bar. When reinstalling the arm to the steering knuckle, follow steps 2 to 5.It's a one-man job and there's no more slipping!I was going to buy the other tool that's very long and many times more expensive but I decided to try this first.Buy it!

It works, will fit Mayhew bar, it will allow you to pry down on any lower arm. Elegant simplicity.
Sometimes a very very simple yet subtly elegant solution to a common problem presents itself, and you look at that solution and think it could never work. With this one you'd be dead wrong.Everyone that works in my field has this issue. Where the hell do I put this damn prybar to get this (strut, ball joint, axle) out of this thing when I can't pry down on it anywhere? GrrrrrrThis works. And it's so simple and strong too. The straight end just sits on the lower arm just behind or in front of the ball joint, you pass your bar through the loop. That's it. That's really it in not kidding.Note: this will fit the gihugeic colossal prybar thing that Mayhew makes I think it's called the dominator or something. It fits. It's cheap, good brand, works. Why are you still reading your fool hit buy now already sheesh

Makes the job easier!
I love this tool. It makes it a heck of a lot easier to cry down the control arm instead of using chains and screws. Makes it much quicker since I am working on commission.

Quality
Wanted to give it some time before reviewing to test how well made it is. Despite using it hundreds of times, it’s still in great shape, so no issues to complain about. The price was right and it was packaged decently when we got it. Recommended!
