love this so much
I literally can't say enough good things about this. This is such an upgrade to the previous ones. I bought this for my 2 year old in July for his birthday. I figured it was a good inexpensive option. My 7 year old has an Apple iPad, and I couldn't justify spending the money on one of them for him, I didn't see much toddler friendly games that really locked in without having the screen lock on & I wasn't spending the money just for him to be trapped into 1 game at a time. I bought a kids fire tablet probably 5-6 years ago for my daughter and it was HORRIBLE. It was the most awful thing I ever purchased. I ended up giving it to my brother to use in a halfway house, because I couldn't care less what happened to the hunk of junk. I was super nervous to purchase this after that first one, but I figured, what the hell.. they had literal years to work on the things. And I wouldnt be too upset if this thing sucked and I lost out on the money, as it wasn't much. I AM SO HAPPY I MADE THE CHOICE, AND GAVE THIS A SECOND CHANCE. This thing has been thrown, dropped from shopping carts, stood on, bounced down steps and everything else a 2 year old boy could do to this thing. NOT A SCRATCH. I love the free time app for kids, he is entertained for hours. This thing goes all day long some times and the battery life is amazing. the content is super appropriate, and I swear this thing has been a blessing in disguise. My husband and I have went back and forth, he didn't allow him to have a tablet, and I didnt really care. My son knows every shape, color, piece of heavy machinery, dinosaur, and so many other things from the kids apps that are downloaded in free time. he can solve puzzles and so many other things in the blink of an eye, because of this thing. No we aren't parents who let their kids be face first in electronics all day, everyday, but neither of my kids have issues putting them down to play with something else. I 100% recommend this to everyone who asks about tablets for their younger kids.

Big upgrade
Amazon did it AGAIN! We upgraded from the 7 inch kids fire tablet to the 10 inch & so far, we’re thrilled. Not only does it feel better in your hands, but you can SEE how crisp everything truly is. When we bought the 7 inch tablet, we were totally new to the operating system because everything we own is apple. It took time to get used to the way the operating system worked (something I do think Amazon COULD make more user friendly and simple), but it’s for the kids, and what they use it for, it’s perfect. It’s the parents settings that’s a little confusing at times. We were back and forth about this vs. and iPad & at the end of the day, the durability of these just can be beat (yay for a 2 YEAR warranty). Side note: if it does need replacing, amazon replaces it with a refurbished one & I wasn’t super thrilled about that, but I do suppose it’s in the fine print. Back to the new 10 inch tablet. The screen size is perfect, I have it compared to the 7 inch model and next to a standard size water bottle for reference. It includes lots of new features and capabilities (I.e. being able to make zoom calls on the kids profiles). I do wish there was a way to lock the screen in on movies and/or apps so he can’t press buttons and get somewhere I don’t want him to be. Also, an actual home button would make the device even better and easy to navigate. Knowing that it didn’t have these, I still went with a kids fire tablet & believe these beat an iPad for a child any day. Setup was a breeze. They couldn’t have made that any easier. It checks all the boxes for us, we are ecstatic & my son was literally “wowing” when we opened it and turned it on. He’s 3 and the content will grow with him, which I love and think is brilliant. PS the sound on this is so loud and clear! Big improvement!

Happy with my kids are happy!
I had been on the fence about this for a while since we have an iPad for our kids but they have been fighting a little bit more so over it now that our youngest is getting old enough to understand how to play the games. So when I saw someone on Instagram (mothercould) talking about the kids fire tablet I started paying attention and looking into it more. I ordered one when they were on sale for a prime day, and it arrived within a couple days. So delivery was quick and the box wasn’t damaged at all, it came with its own charging cord and charging block. When I turned it on to start setting it up it actually synced up to my prime account really quick, it honestly was so hassle free and my child was able to just immediately start playing games on it. After watching her for sometime now she seems to have a really good grasp on how to navigate it. She is still relatively young so it’s not like she appreciates all the content provided but she really does love the games and the videos. As a parent I’m just really happy that I can give my child a device and not have to worry about her going online or downloading anything she shouldn’t be or watching anything she shouldn’t be like I would with the iPad. Also they give you the option throughout set up to actually disable going online which I find really nice because considering my child’s age I don’t want her online at all. Overall I think it was a good bye and I’m actually debating buying another one because my oldest now wants to play on the new tablet lol I’m not sure what I was expecting in regards to the protective case for this tablet but when I opened it it felt like I was holding a giant stale marshmallow. It’s really lightweight but definitely protects the tablet. My child pretty much walks around with it all the time and as a result she has smacked it against our coffee table dropped it from the couch and dropped it even in the kitchen and there are absolutely no scratches so far.

My son loves it !
*Update for positive exchange experience* :) In order to have a smooth exchange you need to speak to a live representative. You will not be able to perform an exchange on your own through the return options or a bot. The rep that helped me was very nice and instructed me that I would receive my sons tablet this Friday and I have up to 30 days to return the damaged one. There was no hassle and a warranty that is for the first 2 years on this product, I mean you can't beat that! My son is very happy, and I am grateful. This tablet is spot on what I was looking for. Has lots of educational apps and fun apps to play my son's favorite is the farm all and the cookie cutter word app. He just turned 4 and honestly, I was the parent reviewing and looking at so many videos and reviews on which one to get and would it be easy to use. So, if you are still debating what tablet to get, I would say this one, it has the best of so when my son is older, I can switch it over to a new profile based on his age. He has all the benefits of the Amazon Kids and lots of endless books free games and parent access and monitoring it's great!

Love it!
I bought three of these for each of my children. I really appreciate the 30% off deal they provided when buying two or more tablets. This made it so much more affordable for us. I really like this tablet. It is made really well and I love the large interface. I also like the option to opt out of the Amazon Kids videos subscription although you are required to first download it before it can be removed. You have to go back in the parental settings and block it if you want it removed from the device. Although there are a lot of great age appropriate shows on the Amazon kids subscription, there is some content we don't approve of so I like that this is not a requirement for the tablet to function. The good thing is, you can still set up profiles for your children and still have lots of parental control options even without the Amazon Kids app. Futhermore, there are no instructions included with the tablets about how to set up the parental controls, however it's pretty easy to figure out and there's tons of online helps that walk you through it. I would definitely recommend this tablet. My kids are 5, 6, and 7 and it's perfect for these ages.

Overall I really like it!
I bought this for my 3 year old and have had it for a couple of months now. Overall I really like it but there was a learning curve with the software. Here are my thoughts and experiences with it. Pro's: - Price is excellent if you can catch a sale. - Case is very good. Great protection, good quality. I really like that they put thought into maximizing the sound with the case. The speakers are on the edge of the device and they make a cool curved area so that the sound from the speakers is redirected towards the user. Works very well. - Battery life is really good. - Curated list of age-appropriate content is very good. - You can remove content as desired. - Great warranty. - As your child grows, the list of content and interface can grow with them. The main interface is optimized for either readers or non-readers and can be changed if your non-reader learns to read. The curated content is age-based, so as they age, the content remains appropriate for their age. - You have control over age range of curated content. You can set it to whatever you want depending on where your particular child is developmentally. You can also set the range in terms on age range, too. Say your kid is 8, you can make just 8 year old content available, or ages 2-8, or 7-10. Whatever you want. Con's - Software could be a lot easier to manage for parents. Some of the content we wanted to remove. It's possible but it took me a few internet searches and some fumbling around in the software to find. I work in technology/software and am pretty savvy and it still wasn't easy. - No button to show running apps, so you can't directly switch between apps without going to the home screen first. - Hardware is pretty meh. It's all pretty basic, lower resolution screen, processor is on the lower end, body material is plastic and feels cheapish. RAM is ok at 3GB. - Storage - only offering 32GB is inexcusable. It allows for very little content to be downloaded/cached on the device and will become a problem at some point for almost everyone. It should be 64GB as the base and they should offer 128GB as an upgrade. You're basically required to use an SD card since the 32GB is so small, most people would be fine if it cost a few bucks more and storage wasn't the problem it is now. Other thoughts: The software overall is really good in my opinion. It for sure needs to be more intuitive in regard to management for parents. However, my daughter has had no issues at all with using it herself. The interface is perfect for her age. It also includes some premium content as well through Kindle books and Nickelodeon shows/games. It's shows and characters she's already interested in, so all that content is fantastic. Another surprise hit was the experiences available with many of the books, that there are options for the book to be read out loud to your child, or for them to read it, or for a parent to read it for them. A very thoughtful and useful feature. My daughter loves having the books narrated for her and is helping in her progress toward learning to read. Some reviews have mentioned issues with certain apps, including ABC Mouse. We use that one a lot and have had no issues whatsoever. I assume that issues other reviewers had in the past have been resolved by software updates. When you first dive into this ecosystem, it can be a bit overwhelming. There's a lot of features and settings, as well as content. After learning how to use and manage it, I can say that I really like it and there's nothing currently on the market that's as good of an end to end experience. I highly recommend giving it a try and stick with it as you work to understand everything. Once you've got it figured out, it's pretty easy to manage and great for kids.

Amazing; can down load many games: 2 year warranty for breakage
This tablet is amazing for kids, it has so many games with amazon kids games, comes with a subscription for one free year, then $2.99 every month if you decided to keep the subscription active after the free one year. You can download, YouTube(not YouTube kids), Disney plus, roblox, Netflix and many more. We charge the tablet full battery and it will last the whole day even when kids play it most of the day. You can completely block your kids from searching the web on the table, or you can even add just the specific websites that you want to allow. Comes with the case for the tablet as shown in the picture. (Doesn’t come with no headphones any other extras) The only thing about this tablet is that, only works with WiFi, can’t active it to any carrier to use it outside WiFi. They should come out with one that can be actived for SIM card/ provider activation. ( or here you go amazon, make your own service to we’re we can pay y’all to have WiFi anywhere for the kids tablet) something else that needs to be fix on this tablet is the fact that the lowest volume setting is still pretty loud so when my daughter is using her tablet and her dad is asleep when we lower the volume to the lowest setting it’s still loud enough compare to a cell phone low volume settings. Other then that this tablet gets 9.5/10 I do recommend you buy it if your kids just won’t stay away from your phone.

Great at first but not so much now.
Edit: I changed my review from 2 stars to 5. After writing my original review someone from tech support reached out to trouble shoot the issues I was having and came to the conclusion that the tablet probably couldn’t be fixed and they offered to send me a replacement and I had to send the original back. The new one will be delivered today. Customer service was great and if I missed an email that they sent they would follow up a few days later to make sure I still needed help. Technical issues happen and how customer service helps fix them is what matters the most to me. Bruno our tech was great! We gifted this to our daughter for Christmas in 2021 and it was absolutely amazing at first. Now not so much. It could be because it’s older now but the biggest struggle is, it doesn’t hold a charge anymore. We have to constantly charge it when it’s not in use And unplug and turn off when fully charged. When it is in use within two hours it’s dead, which is not normal. We Still have the original charger that is in great physical condition but no matter what outlet we use the box of the charger gets burning hot and is now a safety concern. Note: this happens when the tablet is charging but not in use and has happened since we got it but has seemed to get worse over time.
