I love The Refreshing Take on ADHD: Uncovering Strengths
ADHD 2.0 by Dr. Edward M. Hallowell and Dr. John J. Ratey is a groundbreaking book that offers an insightful and updated perspective on Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The authors, both renowned experts in the field and diagnosed with ADHD themselves, present a compelling blend of scientific research and personal anecdotes. They explore the latest developments in neuroscience and share practical strategies for managing ADHD. The book's strength lies in its positive approach, viewing ADHD not just as a disorder but as a unique set of brain-based traits that, if harnessed correctly, can lead to remarkable achievements and creativity. I love the positive spin on this and found the sections on diet, exercise and lifestyle particularly helpful.ADHD 2.0 is an essential read for individuals with ADHD, their loved ones, and professionals in the field. It combines scientific rigour with empathetic understanding, making it a valuable resource that shines a hopeful light on living with ADHD.I love its comprehensive coverage, engaging narrative, and practical approach to a complex topic. A great update on Driven to Distraction

Everyone Should Read This
Learning to drive made me question enough to realise that I have ADHD - further lessons felt like an exploration of how my mind works, but not the right conditions to process the complexities of today's world, trauma, and lifestyle.I realised that I was on a bit of a journey and bought this book as a way of recognising that. This felt like a form of taking responsibility in a way that could be life-changing, and the book is brilliant!I've gone from being determined to try medication (including three evidence-collecting sessions with a nurse, which the NHS deleted) to being determined to work with myself instead of against myself or punishing myself when I struggle. If everyone read this, they would be better for it because they would understand people around them more and the risks of modern life causing ADHD-like symptoms (explained as VAST in the book).

Upbeat take on ADHD
If you just want to find out more about ADHD and ADD this might not be the book for you. It is a rather relentlessly cheerful positive reframing of ADHD with an emphasis on the upside of mostly the hyper end of the spectrum, which made me feel mildly inadequate as I’m more at the ADD end, and the suggestions there were the ones that many use as coping mechanisms even before they find out about ADD - trying to structure your time, make lists etc. I‘m the list ninja, whether I’m able to follow them is another issue. However it is quite entertaining and upbeat, which should be applauded in itself, and it does have some interesting information on how the ADHD brain works. I gained something from it but I’m not sure it has helped me with coping strategies beyond what my own common sense suggests. I did however come out of it with that ‘I’m not alone’ feeling reinforced, which is a help in itself. I suspect their earlier book is more up my street.

Great to help you manage your ADHD
Great book. Medical and evidence based. Simple language. Packed with practical ideas to help people with ADHD manage their lives better. As an aside, one of the psychiatrist authors wrote one of my fave books - Crazy Busy. I’m a therapist and have recommended this book to several clients.

Interesting Introduction into the Concepts of Dealing with ADHD
This is a fairly interesting introduction into the world of coping and dealing with ADHD. The authors present some clear strategies and actions that one can take or implement within their own lives to make progress on dealing with the challenges ADHD presents.I think they very tactfully deal with the challenge of ADHD and at no point did I feel that the condition was belittled, trivialised or minimised by the authors which is no mean feat. A few authors approach the topic as if you have a superpower, neglecting the real life challenges the condition presents to people. The analogy used within this book is the best one I’ve come across so far - a race car brain with bicycle brakes.

Made Me Feel Understood as an Adult with ADHD
As an adult with ADHD navigating a very busy season of life, I found this book incredibly helpful. It not only provides practical strategies, but it also helped me better understand my diagnosis and some of the challenges I’ve faced over the years. One of the biggest takeaways for me was learning to give myself a little more grace. I would highly recommend it to other adults looking to better understand and manage their ADHD.

Spiegazione ADHD MOLTO ACCURATA !
