Beets eating Meats!
This book was a quick and easy read, but filled with loads of information, explanations that anyone can understand! I never realized why I felt better after eating beets and drinking beet juice, and now I know why! I would recommend it to everyone, even if you don't like beets, try this recipe and you'll love them![Scrub the beets, cut the tops off, boil them in water, when tender, ((strain the juice to drink later - dash of stevia is optional)0... while the beets are cooling, chop up some onions (your choice), garlic, EVOO, Salt and pepper, about a Tablespoon of lemon juice, and then rub the skins off the beets (discard in your garden) and slice up the beautiful red juicy beets into the onion/garlic mix....toss around, eat warm or store in fridge up to a week or two...Everyone loves this recipe...so all you Beet haters out there, try them...not only will you love them, they will love you into great health! Gives you energy and stamina!!! And thank you Carolyn Pierini who co-authored this book!!! <3

Carolyn and Nathan did their homework on this one.
Concise and informative, the diagrams allow even the ''not so informed reader'' to understand the basics of the anatomy involved in the complex digestion of the various foods. I will never look at the ''Beet'' the same again. 55 pages long, so it is a quick read, a handy and fast reference to pass on to family and friends.

Why beets can be dangerous
Beets were pushed to me by my doctor. Until I read Sally Norton's book, Toxic Superfoods, I purchased powdered beets, ate roasted beets , and drank their juice. Norton explains that beets are in a category of high oxylate foods which contribute to serious ailments. People with kidney disease or stones are advised to avoid high oxylate foods, beets happens to be one of them. Following a low oxylate plan helped eleviate my gallbladder symptoms, Norton's book explains why.

Improving your Overall Health
I was looking for a way to increase nitric oxide in my body to help overcome neuropathy and beets were on the list of foods that would help do that. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that beets are very good for overall health as well. This is a short book, but very informative and well worth the money.
