My cat loves this. It does get a little tangled in itself and the pointy stick falls off. Bit annoying it uses three batteries. My battery charger doesn’t like the math. But it keeps my cat Sunny entertained for sure.

L0VED!!! - that it engaged my indoor cat immediately, and that it has two speeds Cons - the screw on piece comes off easily when he plays with it; I plan to superglue it on Suggestion- to slightly shorten the skirt so that the tail of the fake mouse/feathers shows as it circulates DEFINITELY worth getting for your indoor cat

Bought this for our two kittens, one of whom is Siamese and who, whilst lovely, needs constant entertainment. This was an immediate hit with her, and our other cat (who is a bit more timid) was at the very least mesmerised by it. As other reviewers have mentioned, on arrival the cover is a bit wrinkled but it doesn't seem to prevent the operation of the toy. It's not overly loud and the clutch mechanism seems to work fine - it clicks occasionally when one of the cats pins it down but it doesn't seem to do it any harm. The only downside I can see so far is that the whole thing is very lightweight, and the parts (wand, base, cover) are quite loosely fitted together. The wand just screws onto the base and after the fourth time of it coming unscrewed I was a bit miffed - but some bluetack in the thread seems to have solved that. The cover attaches with some elastic - but not very securely, and comes off trivially so if you have cats like ours, they'll pull it off in short order. It's easy to reattach, but it would be good if it was fixed a bit more firmly. And lastly - the whole base unit is light enough that it's easy to flip or (in the case of our Siamese) actually carry around the room. Which she has done now, several times. It would definitely benefit from a self-righting mechanism, because whilst this toy has saved me from needing to wave a wand toy around constantly, it's been replaced by needing to get up and flip the toy the right way up. All up, would recommend. One of the better cat toys we've bought.

Probably the worst cat toy I've ever bought that I have to return it the day it arrived! Please don't buy this product, it arrived with a snapped wire, the wire inside the cover so flimsy and bendable and the cover itself is so thin, I don't understand who approved this, definitely not for cat claws. When I placed fully charged batteries inside, the slow mode was way too slow, and the fast mode was just a tiny bit faster but still super slow. The way you see in other videos where the mouse shows itself coming out and in, did not work on mine, it just stayed covered and then because my cat would attack it, the cover would crease over and get stuck in the mouse stick. Absolute terrible product, it should not be sold to anyone! Very disappointed as I bought a cat's meow one and that broke after 3 days and had to return it and now this. My cat absolutely loved that toy too but this, she wasn't impressed. Avoid all toys like this, they never seem to work or last!

Firstly we don't have a normal cat, he is an 8kg bengal well known for murdering toys! He has a similar toy which he's had for a while but it's getting a bit past it so I thought I would treat him to a new one. He absolutely loved this, the blue skirt comes off easily but it also goes back on easily too. The "mouse" was chased and pounced on sooo many times until it slowed right down, I thought it might be the batteries but even with a fresh set it hardly moves. It's expensive just to last one day but I would suspect that's more the cats fault than the toy! If anyone knows of an industrial model of a similar toy please let me know!

Cats found this mesmerising and lots of fun! They're both a little older 6-7 but still loved watching the mouse fling round underneath the material shroud, the product is of very good quality and feels robust. Easy to use by pressing the top middle button to change from two speed settings, my cats prefer the fastest! You may want to coax your cat(s) into playing with it by laying some of their favourite toys around or under the device to help familiarise themselves with it.

It works all fine, until the cat catches it, which stops it from.turning, and it makes a really loud stuttering hammering sound, Because the motor can't turn any more. But I thought that would be the whole point, for the cat to catch it, so why does it make such a loud horrible noise like the cat is breaking it? Not sure if can put up with that noise for too long?

I was dubious how well this toy would work. Build quality is standard cheap tat. But the toy has clearly been well designed. The way it changes direction and stops randomly. My cat cant tear his attention away! Hours of entertainment over the two days I have had it. Would recommend!

Katten älskar den. Men den låter väldigt mycket och kvaliteten är inte speciellt bra. Den håller så länge den håller helt enkelt. Men katten är underhållen i timmar och jamar bär jag stänger av. Tre AAA batterier krävs och önskar att den hade kunde laddats upp istället.

Both cats love it. I’m not sure it will last very long, it doesn’t look very sturdy. My boy doesn’t usually like toys but he won’t leave this one alone. My girl chases him off if she thinks he’s getting too close. Fun to watch them interact and chase each other and the toy around.

My cat loves it. Hes been playing with it more than a month now and does not get bored of it

I have to say that this is the fourth Hot Pursuit I have purchased in 10 years because my cats tend to wear it out. It is a very engaging and inexpensive toy that helps your cats have an enriched environment. Cats need stuff to do, otherwise they become distructive and present with play aggression...... this is a tool to help keep them busy in moments you cannot participate in active play. Is it the quietest toy, as other people have complained? No, but I guarantee it's less noisy than your cat destroying your sofa. And for less than $15, something that keeps your cat happy is worth every penny. You cannot expect to own a cat and it be seen and not heard. If that's how you feel, you should have a fish. This particular purchase, I received one that was faulty and I contacted the company about product support. I received a call within 16 hours to help me troubleshoot the issue. Unfortunately, I was unable to fix it so a replacement was sent. The fact that a real human being called me from Washington State to help troubleshoot this item was incredible customer service, especially for product that is this affordable. My cats have always enjoyed this toy and because we tend to be unexpected fosters for the cat distribution system, this toy ends up getting a lot of play. It is always one of the most popular! Hats off to this company and the Hot Pursuit for making my cats happy! When you purchase this item, have realistic expectations. It takes batteries but you get a lot of use of this before having to replace them. I'm reading a lot of reviews for people that act like they spent $100 on something. This is an inexpensive toy to help keep your cat occupied when you cannot actively play with your fur baby. This is not a substitute for your participation in their active play. Active participation is best by their Guardian and this is what you use when you need to wash dishes. Kudos to Smarty Cat! Outstanding toy! Worth it.
