Wow, this saved me some money.
I had two of these keys cut for $4 each at Ace Hardware. Locksmith wanted $35 each. Once the keys were cut, assemble all the buttons, put in the transponder from the broken shell, install the chip and I now have a fully functioning key. Everything retrofitted perfectly for my Toyota car. You can keep the old key if it is still good as a spare for opening the lock, in case you lock yourself out.

For broken Keys works as intended, no programming needed
My key broke and I didn't want to pay a dealer to get a new one. This key was perfect as it was just a shell and getting it cut was cheap at any locksmith. Opened up my old key and transferred over all the internals into this new shell.THE OLD KEY'S CHIP CAN BE TRANSFERRED OVER. So, the chip will be like a little rectangular box ON the inside shell (separate from the remote), of the old key. You can just take that out and put it into this new shell and the key will work. No programming needed.

Worth the money
I've only had the keys for 2 days but they work. The hardest thing to do was finding someone to cut the key. Home Depot wouldn't do it. Ace also refused. However, they offered to sell me one of their keys for $35. I called a bunch of locksmiths and they were either mobile, $75, or wanted to take the lock out of my door. I eventually found A-1 locksmith and the guy there cut it for me in a matter of minutes. $6 a cut and well worth it. The other challenging part was moving the "chip" over to the new key. Watch a couple of youtube videos and you'll do just fine.Nice job Jeff. I approve!
