M4 Sherman
Firstly this model is NOT for beginners. This is a highly detailed kit with lots of small parts. This kit offers three different version of this tank. once chosen at times its not easy to see which part is for which version. Many small parts at times makes this a little frustrating, but if you hang in there you are rewarded with a highly detailed model which you can treasure.

Well tooled modern kit, quality moulding. All the Sherman curves in the right places!!
Great kit,well detailed with no flash. Generous decals for 3 units. My kit came minus the instruction sheet so ill have to find a download. Does come with an excellent paint guide,shame the packer mistook this for the instructions. The Sherman comes with the D-Day ' breather' chimneys for the coastal landing. Optional of course. I think this is a modern tooling. Very good. May get the French 2nd Armoured Div version too featuring the units that stormed onto the 'Eagle Nest' stronghold. That will solve the instruction sheet problem too! First Heller tank,very impressed.

Not that good a kit.
I like the fact that this model has the deep wading gear for D-day but the plans are confusing at best.

Excellent value for money
The construction kit comes with everything shown - and more! The pieces are well crafted on the sprues and there are options to make numerous versions of this classic tank.

Good cheap kit but transfers are terrible and recommends superglue for the tank tracks
(As is common in nearly all model kits you get no paint or glue with this and they recommend superglue for the tank tracks)For the price this is a great little kit that comes with three different build options. Once finished kit measures only 3 inches long.The molding is quite crisp with very little flash.All the tools are separate instead of molded directly onto the hull making them easier to paint but a bit of a faff to assemble as they are so small with some very thin parts that are easy to break. On the whole the kit is okay to assemble but probably not for the complete beginner.This is due to the way the instructions are laid out, the various build options, some small and fiddly parts and some very poor transfers. I would go for the new Airfix Sherman Firefly as a much easier build, although it is a tad more expensive.A word about the transfers: they are very thick, difficult to make conform to curved surfaces (even when using a setting solution), some of mine fell off the backing paper before I even got them in the water and others tore as I was trying to place them. I am lucky I picked the colour scheme with the fewest to use. You may want to get some aftermarket ones and save a lot of hassle. Would have been 4* but only 3* from me because of the transfers.
