JACO TreadPro Tire Tread Depth Gauge, Dial Type (Reads in 1/32")

I bought this JACO tread depth gauge specifically for my motorcycle, and it’s honestly one of the handiest little tools I’ve picked up. It’s super easy to use just press it into the tire and the dial gives you an instant, clear reading in 1/32. No guessing, no squinting. The color zones (green, yellow, red) make it really simple to see whether your tread is still good or getting close to replacement. For motorcycles where tire condition is everything, this gives me a lot more confidence before riding. The build quality feels solid, the dial is smooth, and the included carrying pouch is a nice bonus for keeping it protected in my backpack or tool kit. Old school. Just works. Accurate and very durable, great size. Nothing digital. A little pricier than the digital but worth it. I expect to have forever.

This is easy and simple to use. It is adequate quality, though more plastic than I would like, but I'm old school. It isn't high precision in the label gradients but works very well for tires. It is small and compact and takes up very little room in the glove compartment. I have this for checking fleet truck tires, and it works perfectly for our needs.

I really like this guage. It seems well built and feels very solid in the hands. Accuracy seems to be spot on, and I like that it is very easy to read as well. I bought, and have used the cheaper ones, which work well, but more difficult to read. The large dial is very easy to read which I like. Also, due to the larger dial, it is much easier to see how close you are getting on treadwear and is a big plus over the small little ones. Handy little pouch as well to protect when sitting in a drawer or in tool case. I will say that it probalby wouldn't stand up well if dropped on the cement (due to glass cover), but not sure I'd trust any good guage if dropped! But it feels solid and is well built. Strongly recommended.

Build quality feels solid and the dial action is smooth. It comes with a small leather pouch, which is worth having since this is more of a precision instrument than a shop beater. That's the one real caveat: drop it on concrete and you might throw off the needle calibration permanently. There's no visible damage when that happens, something just shifts internally and it won't zero out anymore. So treat it like the measuring tool it is, not like a wrench. For the price, it competes easily against the cheap plastic sliding gauges. Those technically work, but the small indicators are harder to read and you're always second-guessing yourself. This one I trust. I've used it across motorcycles, sedans, and lifted trucks with consistent results. If you want a quick, reliable way to stay ahead of tire wear and you're willing to store it somewhere it won't take a fall, it's an easy buy.
