Tasty Five Spice powder. Always fresh and flavorful.

If I only owned two spices, they would be salt and Dynasty Chinese Five Spices. I especially like to use it on baked salmon. I’m so glad Amazon carries it because it is very difficult to find. I tried other brands of Chinese five spice powders… they don’t compare at all. The expiration date is often a problem yes. But I just received one early October 2025 and the best by date is 9/3/26. I’m OK with that. I did notice a couple of things. Looking at the ingredients I can’t imagine why it would say refrigerate after opening. But my last bottle had a cap that didn’t seem to want to stay closed. So ?? I tried asking Rufus. No luck. I also can’t understand how shaking it is going to mix the ingredients much if at all. I’ve been using this for years. I haven’t refrigerated it. I haven’t shaken it . I’m still standing & it’s delicious. If I had to substitute this, I would probably substitute it with Ceylon cinnamon. But cinnamon doesn’t even come close.

I've never used Chinese Five Spices before, but we had a holiday goose and I wanted to try it in combination with citrus to flavor the bird. It was a real winner and I loved the spice combo. In fact, I like it so much that I'm finding other recipes just to use more of it. This brand seemed to be of good quality and fresh, as well as being reasonably priced. We live in the country and don't have any stores that would carry such things, so I was really glad to find it online. If you've got a recipe that calls for it, I highly recommend giving this one a shot.

I was unhappy when my order for 3 jars only contained 2, but they replaced the missing jar in a timely matter. I use it for Chinese 5 spice cookies. The cookies need a 5 spice that has fennel as the first ingredient, and licorice root as another. Too many "5 spice" do not contain the correct percentage of ingredients - this does.

I use this spice for many oriental dishes and found this brand to be the same as the ones I used in the past. I bought some other brands at our local supermarket, and they do not have the same quality even though they are made by some of the national brands.

Good spice, almost “expired” though. Used for Peking Duck.

This Chinese Five Spice powder is high quality! Just like what I got at Chinese Herb Store in Taiwan. I will keep buying it in the future.

We love to wok and cook asian but have not had a chance to really "cook" with this, but I opened it and used it on a diet asian frozen dinner the other day and it rocks! I can smell every spice! Can not WAIT to wok with this! Nice glass jar, packaged great, tight and safety lid... YUM WHAT a great addition to our every day or asian spice mixes! I think just sprinkled on white rice would be fabulous. A Must for your spice cabinet!
