Kiniki Men's Tan Through Swim Shorts (5th Generation)

Ok, so I wasn't sure if purchasing a pair of these trunks was a good idea or not. But, I had some rewards points floating around, and I love swimming, but I don't love the tan lines I get. So, I figured, why not, and ordered a pair. First impressions: I got the package out of the mailbox and thought there is no way there is anything in that envelope that I'll be able to wear at the pool! But, lo and behold, I opened it up, and there was a lovely pair of swim shorts. Holding them up to my waist, I thought the size would be too small, but once I put them on, they fit perfectly. I will say that Amazon suggesting I go a size higher than their size chart was a good idea, but the large size fits me perfectly with a 34" waist. I wore them into the pool tonight, and wow, they were great. The fabric print does a great job of hiding the fact that there are definitely parts that are see through, and I don't think anyone looking at a glance would be able to tell that the fabric is that sheer. One word of caution though, if you have anything metallic (jewelry or otherwise) that will definitely show through the fabric, so beware! Other than that, I wish I would have bought these earlier since swim season is almost done for the year. Great product, and so far I love it.

This was a reward to myself! I’m 6’ 2” and recently dropped from almost 220 lbs to 190 lbs. My waist size is now about 36 I think. When I first tried it on at 195 lbs, the waist was a bit snug... but fit. Now is seems fine (maybe I stretched it some). I ordered the side L. These are clingy and sheer, but the fabric pattern camouflages your equipment so you don’t reveal too much. There is a small crotch liner if you want to hide your bulge a bit more, but this suit will cup your your parts. The liner can easily be removed or just pushed to the side if you prefer. Either way, you will display a bulge. Note: The colors are more muted than the photos indicate. The camera must highlight the color while in real life the fine mesh tamps down the color. It still looks great. Shipping was a bit faster than promised, and arrived the day before leaving on a beach trip. Win! Being trunks, these are not as skimpy as a speedo, but they are still sexy. My wife highly approves. I will be ordering another color in the same size.

I like these shorts and wear them for swimming and the beach. They are not see-through, so no worries on that score, (at least in this patterning) the fabric is light and comfortable on the skin, the shorts look good and they do seem to let the rays through. My only issue(and the reason for 4-stars rather than 5) is with the sizing and cut. I'm normally a medium or large waist size. I first ordered large, and found them far too tight around the waist. I then ordered extra-large (never done this before!) and the waist is a comfortable fit, but the legs are a little loose. This seems like an easy issue to fix.

THE SIZE GUIDE IS WRONG!!!! If you don't want a Speedo fit with trunks, or even if you're ordering the briefs type, I highly recommend ordering 2 (two) sizes larger than the size guide. Third party seller will charge you shipping back to the U.K., and it will cost 3 times what you pay for the garment! The trunks are great looking and the material is comfortable and I'd love to wear these but will be most uncomfortable and unsightly! I'm giving a one star only because I can't rate it from wear and functionality.

Product fits as expected. Bought this as a gift for someone, I went up a size for these shorts, and up two sizes for womens bikini’s. The pattern hides any transparency so its not obvious its a tan through bathing suit. The tan line idea didn’t really work out, but its fun to pretend its working. I had a tan line from the bathing suit, but maybe it wasn’t as significant as if it were a regular bathing suit?

I'm 5'9", 190 lbs, waist size 34" US and decent shape. I specifically went with XL because it should have fit loosely on me, but it ended up fitting like it does the models on the product page (almost tight). It's not a huge problem, but order 2 sizes larger if you want a slightly loose fit a 1 size larger if you want them to fit. How they work: I'm pleased to say you will get a tan through the fabric, but the tan will be lighter than the rest of your body. It's great the tan-through works, but understand its not like you slap these on and you get a full body tan with no differences in shades of tanning. After reading other reviews I feel like it should be clear that you should buy these FOR FUNCTION mainly. If you're more concerned about style and not the tan-through feature simply buy regular beach clothes instead of writing one star reviews bc you didn't like how the piece "looked" on you.

The waistband stitching unraveled as soon as I tried them on, could just be a fluke but they did fully refund me without having to return them, since the international return shipping was so expensive, which was nice. They were also much smaller than I expected. The reviews said order a size up, so I got an XL instead of my normal large and they were still pretty tight around the waist. I wear a size 34 waist for normal shorts, so having to buy an XXL seems kinda crazy. The shorts themselves seem awesome, the material really is transparent when they're off and magically not transparent when they're on. I didn't get a chance to test the tanning aspect though unfortunately. I might get an XXL pair eventually and try again.

I'm a lady and I bought the largest size bottoms and they fit like boy shorts! Very comfortable! 💜

The swim short was great to catch some sun and even out the tan everywhere! Feels as light as not wearing anything but for sure no one could see through. The fit was good enough even though the fabric feels a bit loose sometimes. I think I could have gone one size smaller for a snugger fit by NA's standards or maybe that's just the way it is with such a light fabric. The pattern and overall look is good. I recommend this product.

Great shorts for beach & Hopefully Getting a tan. Seem well made & look great on I would definitely recommend going up a size from what U think, poss two as they do run a little on small size, but get size right & I think you'll b well happy with purchase. I contacted seller ref sizing and they were great & came back to me in a timely fashion I WOULD DEFINITELY BUY AGAIN 100%
