The media could not be loaded. At first I was hopeful bc I used it on diamonds I knew were real.so I then tried it on my gemstones and it hit the silver and gave me a false reading.

Works just fine - you can test other stones as well (like sapphires, moissanite and so on). The settings are neatly shown on the back of the tester and with the correct values the device works just fine. The tester comes without battery, so you'll have to buy one yourself. It comes with manual, case and placing plate for loose stones.

This was to replace my old diamond tester (tatty but still working) … bit more complicated than my old one but does the trick! My old one was turn on … wait for beep … set it at 2 bars and then test… in the red and you’re on a winner… essentially this is the same but you set bars to the size of diamond … and temperature (!?!) … but basically set to 3 bars and you’ll tell anyway!!! These are easy to use and accurate… downside… no ultra violet light so I’m hanging on to my old one to look at clarity. I’d suggest also getting a moissanite tester as they can fool diamond testers.No jeweller should be without one… or metal testing kit!!!

My son bought this he's 12. We both tried it several times with different batteries and it didn't work. He metal detects as a hobby and finds allsorts including jewellery, some stone set items that are definitely diamond but this didn't detect where the jewelers did. Quite flimsy. Fast shipping though and well packaged, could have been a dud one the rest may be ok but our experience was it didn't work.
