One of my best purchases
This has been a key component in fixing my sleep habits. I’ve been telling everyone to order this mat and feel the difference. I used with a shirt and hang noticed much besides slight relief but once I tried shirtless with my elevated resting on a chair or my bed I was amazed. It is uncomfortable in the first few minutes but relief and relaxation shortly follows. I get the best sleep after this. Looks clean, good quality, and easy to hide/store. Very affordable and easy to travel with to keep up with routine.

Highly Recommend!!!
I’m 21 years old and shoe horses for a living. I’ve been getting stiff in my low back and neck pain. When I wake up in the morning I can’t turn my head or look up very well. When I do my stretches, I struggle with the “mermaid pose”; while trying to extend my arms and stretch my abs it feels like I’m about to pinch a nerve in my back. It’s started to concern me because I’m young, but I don’t want to pay a bunch of money for chiropractors and massages.I had first heard of acupressure mats from a Shakti ad. It looked really nice but I could justify the price. In the past few weeks my pain has gotten worse so I figured I’d give it a try. Still couldn’t justify the price so I checked Amazon. When I saw the spikes on this mat I knew it had to be good. I checked many reviews to see if it would work for me. The 2 and 3 star reviews of people saying it hurt too bad made me want it that much more.I’ve had the mat for 4 days now. The first day I laid on it for about 3 minutes. It was very painful and my sister thought I was crazy. Each day I’ve laid on it a little longer. Last night. I laid on it for 15 minutes. Here’s the general timeline for what I’ve felt: 0 minutes you’ve just laid on the mat it’s so painful it takes your breath away and your hands and feet are weak. 2-2.5 minutes you start to feel the numbing sensation, the pain is way more tolerable, and you can relax your muscles and sink in a little more. 4.5-5 minutes your back gets very warm, a wave of calm comes over you, and you feel like you can lay on it as long as you want. About 10 minutes I started to feel my pulse in my back and I was completely relaxed and calm. After laying on the mat for 10 minutes I have incredible range of motion in my neck and back. I can look side to side and all the way up with no discomfort. My back feels incredible. As soon as I got off the mat I checked with the mermaid pose and I stretched further than I have in probably a couple years. I was overjoyed. The calming sensation is also really nice. Totally a stress reliever.Initially I tried it with a shirt on and it did nothing so I went straight to bareback. Let me reiterate… THE FIRST TWO MINUTES HURT! If it doesn’t hurt it’s not working, in my opinion. Also, I put it on the floor so the only cushioning is what comes in the mat. What I wanted was a meat tenderizer for my muscles and that’s what I got. I couldn’t be happier with this thing.Another thing to mention. I saw several reviews of people saying it’s too small. I’m 5’10” and the spikes cover my whole back. I do use the neck pillow as well so there’s a strip at the top of my shoulders that doesn’t make contact with any spikes, but that isn’t what I’m targeting anyway. But for $20, you can move around on the mat if you want to target different areas it’s not that big of a deal.TLDR: Buy it. It’s cheap and it works. Painful at first and then warm and tingly after 2 minutes. You will feel amazing at 10 minutes. Greatly helped my back and neck pain and mobility. Great stress reliever.

Try it!
I was a little of a skeptic when it came to the acupressure mat. But I’ve been hooked and using it every day since I got it. It is a little uncomfortable at first but honestly as long as you make it through the first 30 seconds you can make it through 15-30 minutes. I’ve already fallen asleep one time when using the mat. Immediately after using the mat, my skin feels a little like a mild sunburn but that feel goes away after a few minutes or so.I get a lot of shoulder and mid-back tension and this has helped a lot. I notice just general inflammation I have has gone down. This is especially great because I do a lot of lifting workouts and I can tell this helps with recovery. The only reason I give this 4-stars is I wish it had some sort of ties on it so I can keep it rolled up. But other than that it is great!

JUST BUY IT
Buy it! I work as a hair and makeup artist and also have frequent migraines.I used this the first two days and it was difficult I didn’t feel the best and had a headache BUT I truly believe it released either toxins or tension. After a week it has been incredible! I genuinely sleep so much better at night, I’ve used it every night for 15 mins and I can easily pop my neck and haven’t gotten a migraine since.I never have anything I can’t live without in my routine but this is definitely is!I use it after a bath and shower and it’s just so relaxing and I almost always fall asleep on it. I wish it came with a bag to keep it in but that’s my only complaint.

Advice, Tips, and Own Experience.
Too costly for what it does. I must say though it seems more sturdy than I though it would be so hopefully it'll be durable as well. I'd suggest you get accupressure slippers instead of this mat unless you can find a way in your schedule to use it long enough. I get the point of this is to temporarily be uncomfortable but the discomfort on this one was coming from the pillow dimensions being a bit too weird for the neck and head to rest on. It suggests bare skin but do build your resistance up to it but starting off with thick clothing first, then thin, and then even less. Just know what your skin can handle. I didn't notice any lymphatic benefits but I did notice mood benefits which is ironic.

Takes getting used to but worth it!
This acupressure mat and pillow definitely takes getting used to but it’s 100% worth it.When I first started I could barely lay on it for 5 minutes without needing to get up because it was so uncomfortable. I’m now able to lay on it for 20+ minutes. Each night I lay on this before bed I get the best nights sleep. I wake up feeling rested and huge pain relief from my neck and back.I also love that it’s very slim so I can slide it under my bed when I’m finished with it.I will say though, the pillow is rough. I am able to use it now but my husband has never been able to. He says it hurts him to bad.Overall it has improved my sleep and pain and is totally worth it.

After one year of use, I can say that this helps in many ways!
I've had this for about a year now and decided to write a review. I bought a used one on Amazon Resale because it was about $10 cheaper than buying a new one. Although it wasn't sent in the original packaging, the item was almost new, had no stains or defects, and was in good condition. I lead an active life, playing sports and exercising every day, but maybe because now that I'm in my 50s, I often have pain and ailments all over my body. I've been trying out various recovery items and I decided to give this item a try after reading positive reviews. At first, it was too painful to use this on my bare skin, so I had to lie down for about a minute with a thin tank top on. All I felt was pain and didn't feel any comfort first, but after using it 2-3 times a week for a few months, I was able to lie on my bare skin without feeling like I am hurting myself. I continued this for a year and now I feel so good that I fall asleep after about 10 minutes of lying on my bare skin. I can sleep on the mat for about 45 minutes. This is a guaranteed way for me to have a power nap after a vigorous exercise and I feel refreshed when I wake up. Also, it seems to help pain in my back or buttocks when I sleep on it. Every time I use this item. I feel a great sense of refreshment and relaxation that nothing else can provide. It also helps regulate my autonomic nervous system. As for the head pillow, I never used it because it was too stimulating for my head, but recently I tried putting my feet on the pillow while sleeping on the mat and it felt really good! Now I use it only for my feet. I like it because I can massage the acupressure points on my feet which are not usually stimulated because we all wear shoes and socks all day. As for the mat, other than sleeping, my favorite way to use it is to sit on the balance ball as soon as I wake up in the morning and do some pelvic stretches while placing the mat under my feet. This stimulates my foot and wakes me up quickly. My husband likes the mat too, but how he uses is a bit different. He is 190 pounds (almost 100 pounds more than me) so it seems to hurt to lie on it (probably because of his weight?) and he says that lying on his stomach on a regular yoga mat with this mat on top of his back is just right. Either way, we both really like it.

Those of you in 24/7 agony, the magic in these spikes is REAL!!!
1. Yes, these are SHARP2. NEVER scoot across them3. If you live alone & your mobility is limited I'd go so far as to say, don't put it on the floor & lie down4. I use it in a recliner or a straight back chair I tip back to a wall with a footstool depending upon how much pressure I want.5. I recommend you gingerly begin in a soft chair until you get the hang of your tolerance.6. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!!! This does something of a system flush & I've learned to keep water very nearby the rest of the day as I'll easily go through a liter + and feel EXTREMELY thirsty the rest of the day.7. 32 years of parenting has taught me well that being unclothed is always when someone will set off the smoke alarm or some other ridiculous thing that seriously compromises my sanity, lol. However, it does do its best work on very thin material (like scrubs) or bare skin.8. Work up to the thin layers & bare skin!9. Unless you are very mobile (unlikely for many in enough pain to need this) again, you do NOT want to scrape across this, probably skip the floor!10. Sweet mother! The roll makes feet happy, migraine head & neck happier, lumbar suckfest improved at least for awhile. Holy hallelujah!11. When you first realize what this will do for your hurty parts, you will be tempted to get back on it, shortly thereafter with less & less between you. Remember there IS such a thing as too much. So do this carefully.12. If you didn't pay attention to 11, your skin is probably somewhat inflamed & a bit red. That will go away in a couple days. To me it wasn't painful, the additional inflammation just reminded me to stay off it a few days.13. Now that I've had it a few weeks I'm pretty attuned to my skins tolerance time & I still LOVE IT!14. I have stage IV Autoimmune Rheumatoid Disease. Every joint in my body showed damage 10 years ago because my treatment was delayed several years & I didn't know any better. My tendons & ligaments are trying to function for my bones & joints. My muscles are trying to function for my tendons & ligaments. RA damage is irreversible. My pain level on average is between a 6-10 with NSAIDs & pain meds. Just within the time frame of the few weeks I've had this, I've been able to reduce pain relieving medication by 50%! Sometimes I can get down to about a 4 if I don't try doing anything. I am waking up more mornings without my back arched or my feet flexed (no I have no clue how I sleep like that) but I do feel more rested most mornings!15. If you live with chronic pain, you WANT this!

Now even Ankylosing Spondilitis feels heavenly.
Just one day since I used it. Haven't felt more energetic and relaxed in years! It's a game changer for someone like me with ankylosing spondilitis, then I can't imagine what it will do for someone with back pain with no underlying disease.I've included it as a meditation, and it's just blissful how I feel pranaali energy in parts of my body which were for so many years only in pain. Thank you prosource for this.Planning to buy one more so that I can have greater coverage on legs simultaneously.I also have radiating pain in my arms. So just rest my arms on it and lay a yoga bolster on top for greater pressure as arms aren't heavy enough to feel much. Another mat would help me do both arms simultaneously. I'm in love with this new ritual to my daily routine.Which is just so pleasurable. After the initial discomfort though. What helped was taking deep breaths and allowing myself to be present with the sensations. Soon it started becoming blissful :)
