I can’t pull it back. Do I need the crank?

Yes definitely. It will make your life much easier and will enhance the looks and value of you crossbow. Just take you time when installing and READ the instructions. Contrary to some who have posted it does not fit, it will fit if you read the instructions.

Does the HyperTac come with the strings and cables detached from the cams?

The cables are already on and ready. What you have to do is bolt the section with the cables on to the rail. Its not hard to do. It only to me a couple of minutes to bolt it on.
