Same as the Old Boss (Fantastic!)
We had the older version of this vac for over 10 years and it was getting tired. Time to replace. After reading the reviews was disturbed and puzzled by some of them pointing out small odd differences that they made to sound negative and so I was initially put off this vac. After reading/comparing I decided to disregard these slightly negative reviews and sally forth having trusted Hoover for so many years and getting excellent service from our older similar unit. So glad I did. This vac is superb value for money. Very much the same as older model but a bit refreshed. Yes, power button and rinse-able disc is lower in the handle. A slight re-design for whatever reason. All around shape of vac is the same. Color scheme is different from old model. This new vac has super suction. Our cat migrates bits of litter around the house and I can see these bits shake as the vac approaches with the power of the suction. Brush must be adjusted a notch higher probably due to being new and not worn down at all. This brings me to the 'hard to push around' mentioned in a couple of reviews. It is the same as old vac. Same weight which is not overly light, a bit heavy but is the same. If the brush is adjusted low and you try to push over a carpet, you will encounter resistance due to the brush really scrubbing the carpet. In this case it will be rather hard to push. Our floors are a mix of bare, low area rugs and low/medium carpets with a couple of very small thin pads near the entrance. Old vac I mostly had brush set on next to lowest. This new vac brush set one notch higher (middle notch). At this setting I can hear the brush lightly touch the bare floor and have plenty of scrub for all carpets/rugs and difficulty of pushing is same as old, as would be expected. The suction is so powerful, this vac will actually pick up the small pads at the entrance door. I have to stand on them while vacuuming carefully or they will be sucked right up and stick on the vac bottom. I'm so extremely pleased with the value and performance of this vac and so happy we got it. Really no idea why anyone would buy another unless perhaps needing a propelled model due to one's own physical limitations. The one major difference from old model is the power cord seems to be about 3-4 inches shorter! Otherwise everything works awesome. Auto-wind cord snaps up super quick. I highly recommend this vac.

My New Hoover Vacuum
easy to take out of the box and put one screw in and get ready to work. good thing tiny go button is red. Vacuum has alot of suck and does a very good job on floors and carpet. Easy to change from floor to carpet. does not swivel well like the shark or dison . it is easy to empty. Seems like im working hard to work it. I like it because it works, but I dont like working it. What a dope. Hay Im old. It does seem to pick up kitty litter well.

Good vacuum
It’s a powerful vacuum, works well, good set of tools. The dial to change from carpet to floor is easy to use. It picks up well! I’ve owned a Hoover in the past. Quality brand. The cord is retractable, great feature but a little short. I added an extension cord, wrapped the connection with electrical tape, so it’s permanent. The wand extends so I don’t have to bend over to use it. I really like it but wish it was lighter. It’s NOT too heavy but would be easier toting up & down the stairs.

Great suction and attachment design.
This Hoover is so wonderful. The power it has and the well thought out attachments have helped me lift out cat fur. The ability to extend the wand with the attachment reaches under my bed. The attachments with the brushes will be great for the baseboards and under kitchen cabinets. I love being able to see the clear container and know how much it is collecting. Great work designers!

"Nothing Good Ever Lasts"
I've been using Hoover vacuums for over 40 years, and the WindTunnel versions have always been great, usually lasting 10 years or longer. This unit will probably be the last Hoover I will buy as the units have been cheapened to the point that I don't expect to get over 3 or 4 years of use from it. Overall this vacuum is only "acceptable". It's bagless, a plus, and picks up and retains dirt very well. It isn't self-propelled and there's no navigation light for darker areas you may be cleaning. (How much would an LED lamp have cost to include?) Compared to the older self-propelled models it's considerably lighter weight due to more and thinner plastic construction, however on low-pile carpet I have to use the next to highest pile setting as it's not easy to maneuver at the lower settings. I bought the model with the new "improved" cord rewind. I wouldn't want to see the previous version because the cord rewind is the worst feature. If you don't normally use curse words then skip this vacuum because the cord rewind will force you to use and even learn new curse words. The recoil spring is plenty strong, but the cheap plastic trigger mechanism.....well, it doesn't "trigger" the rewind very well. After removing the HEPA filter cartridge and looking above it, I see the problem is the white plastic trigger lever is mounted to pivot on a red plastic spindle. This spindle isn't strong enough and flexes, preventing the lever from pushing the release far enough toward the center of the cord carousel. I made a fix for mine, but won't describe it as I don't think the rest of the mechanism will last long either. I rated this vacuum at 3. I would have rated it 4 if they had just omitted the rewind feature. This review is a little sad for me as I've always admired the Hoover brand, but as "they" say, 'nothing good ever lasts'.

Quality vacuum
Nice heavy duty sweeper! The auto cord rewind is a nice feature! A tad heavy compared to my last sweeper. The cord and hose is nice and long. Good value.

Powerful suction, easy to use.
It's kind of heavy compared to the Shark Rocket stick vac I'm replacing, but it really blows that Shark out of the water for cleaning power. It has powerful suction and it picks up cat hair like it's nothing. The cord is long enough to reach where I need it to reach and it's retractible, and that's a great feature. The hose can be used with attachments for other types of cleaning and I foresee it working very well for my needs. I paid quite a bit more for the Shark machine and it worked great when it was new, but I'd had it for ten years and it was no longer doing the job for me, so I was ready for an upgrade.

Wouldn’t recommend
It’s a decent vacuum but after using just twice the cord rewind barely works and two parts have fallen off the attachments and refuse to stay attached. Cheaply made for a decent brand and if we used often wouldnt last. Thankfully we rarely vacuum (have housekeepers and a robot vacuum) so it’s good enough.

Hated it!
This is not worth it. It’s too expensive and it constantly clogs. The dust and whatever I’m trying to vacuum, never makes it to the plastic to be emptied. Instead, I have to manually pick out the hose to the best of my ability in order just to vacuum for another 60 seconds before I have to do the same thing. When I do clean it out, I can’t get everything out of the hose because it’s too long. It’s a powerful vacuum but unless you want to be cleaning out the hose four times per use in a row then I would not get this vacuum. I paid all of this money for absolutely nothing and it’s pretty much garbage!
