Q: What to make sure this kit comes with an interior trim piece to make a tidy and tight installation?

It does come with both interior and exterior trim pieces as well as a rain diverted for exterior cover

Q: Does it come with instructions ?

NO, no instructions. It's easy to figure how to use of you are venting through wood frame siding. Drill 2 inch hole through entire wall being careful to not hit any electrical wires or walk studs. I attached the air line to a 2in. Pipe. Inserted it through the wall and clamped and taped. CAUTION: the fresh air stove intake needs to be the same size as the kit you order. I had to send one back because the stove fitting was to small. The other kit worked great.
