I use an external hard drive to back up my machine at the office, swapping it weekly with one at home. This is just large enough to carry the drive and its cable safely in my pocket. The case keeps dust and lint out of the connector, and protects the drive from being scraped by anything else in my pocket. It weighs very little, so a 2.5" drive disappears into the pocket. Knowing its safe in transit makes cycling the off-site backups easier.

I really wanted this hard drive case for my Miyoo Mini Plus (gaming device). And for that purpose, the Mini+ fits in there perfectly - not super-tight but also not so loose that you worry about it moving around too much. The only thing that worries me is that this is case is more "soft-sided pouch" than "hard case"...the side are very soft and if I crammed this thing into a bag with a bunch of other stuff, I might worry about my Mini+'s screen getting damaged. So for now, I still use it, but I'm careful how I pack it.For just carrying regular 2.5" external hard drives, this thing works great. The hard drives already have their own hard shell so the pouch concept works fine.
