This is a fantastic product that replaces a pot I'd inherited some years ago. I'm not putting the lid of this one in the dishwasher, as that's what I think finished off my old one, although it was very old, so maybe it was at the end of its life anyway? As far as I'm concerned, there is no better make of pressure cooker than SEB. There are even more safety features on it now and when its reached the right temperature, there is a slight popping sound, which I take to be the signal to reduce the heat, which is an improvement on the old system, which involved a fair amount of guess-timation First time I used it I filled it with plain water and cooked that for about 15 minutes, just to get the whole thing in the zone. Then I made a very good chicken soup. The booklet it arrives with is in French. The serial number is clearly engraved on the pot and the size is engraved very clearly on the bottom. Lid and base are both Inox stainless steel. You have to attach the handles yourself, very straight forward to do.

This was a gift and the recipient is delighted. I myself have used SEB for fifty years and prefer the material and function of SEB to all other designs. However, the recipe book is in French. They could make an effort to send a translation. It is also much, much thinner than the original, i.e. the section on sterilisation has gone. Maybe they could offer an email version on request?

I like a screw top presssue cooker......the last SEB lasted twenty years.....until i broak the handle.....bit pricey....but worth it

Replacing old one in practically daily use for a decade. Safe, spares readily available.

Best time to deliver.. Best product to eat.. ;)
