The include stainless reinforcement staples are a breeze to work with. ( I bought extra staples, made for this welder, separately.)Put the reinforcement in the gun end, hold the staple to the plastic break and hit the trigger. The reinforcement staple will get hot and bury in the plastic. When it does, let go of the trigger, let it cool a bit, pull the gun away and the reinforcement staple is buried in the plastic. (Use as many as needed for a good repair joint.) I cut the metal legs off of the staples and ground them down a bit. Then install the spatula tip and smooth the plastic over, heat welding the crack (with or without a plastic filler rod). What I appreciate is that the staples and the spatula tip get hot fast, making repairs reasonable quick.I repaired a John Deere zero turn deck chute cover with this welder. That saved me $70 and a trip to get the replacement. I also repaired a broken trailer tag mount, integrated into the tail light, that I couldn't find a replacement for. These repairs, along with the convenience of being able to fix an item on the spot, more than paid for this plastic welding kit. While I don't know what the longevity of the item will be, again, it has already paid for itself. It was well worth the purchase price.

The staples perform as expected.

When the plastic bumper of my Toyota encountered a Racoon both suffered greatly. My body shop guy said the cold weather makes the bumper more brittle and if it had been the summer it might not have cracked. I didn't want to fix it myself but the cost of a new bumper was more than I wanted to spend. These hot staples and an Allturn 1200 Plastic Welder made the job easy and saved me more than $500.
