Works with Windows, but not with Chromebooks
I got this to connect the kids school Chromebooks to the TV and monitors. Most times it doesn't work, not sure why. I tested it with a Windows laptop and works ok so I assume is a compatibility issue with Chromebooks. FYI, it will only work with a single monitor. It is not a multiple display docking station or adapter. So you can only use one of the output connectors. One thing I don't really like is how the cable jacket looks when you have a bit of a bending radius right where the USB-C connector is. Bottom line if you plan to use this with a Windows computer it works ok and is a low cost solution to have HDMI, VGA or DVI. Look elsewhere if you need it for Chromebooks. Giving it 4 out of 5 because it works with Windows and is low-cost.

It works to add a single monitor via the USB C to DVI
Overall I would recommend purchasing this product to add a 2nd monitor to your Thunderbolt 3 setup. Our office upgraded two 2013 iMacs to the new 4K display with Thunderbolt 3 ports in the back for additional displays.+ Cosmetically, this seems like a decent adapter because of the aluminum shell and all the ports looked in tact as well.+ The USB C Multiport Adapter connected via DVI to 2nd monitor. This worked for me. When I plugged everything in, the iMac recognized that monitor was there and asked me to arrange my displays. To actually see the 2nd monitor working, I had to restart my computer once to get this to work. I do not believe this is the adapters fault.-USB C Multiport Adapter connected via cable (Mini Displayport to DVI Monitor)This did not work. The existing cable I had used to connect the 2nd monitor to the previous iMac, Mini Displayport to DVI, did not work at all. The new iMac did not even acknowledge there was a 2nd monitor attached.I have yet to try the other available ports (VGA, HDMI). For now I will give it 3 stars because my existing cable did not work with this Multiport Adapter. This may be on the cable i was using, but i'm not going to try and figure it out because I had 2 extra DVI cables sitting around.

Works, but only for a year
I travel a ton for business, and I often need to show things off my MacBook, so of course, I need a dongle now that these machine only have USB-3/Thunderbolt ports. Bought this about a year ago. It worked, but in the past month, has stopped reliably connecting to displays. VGA tends to be OK, but HDMI in particular tends to fail, my laptop and the external system just go into a constant flicker loop and can never sync up. I'm not sure if it's that newer HDMI systems extend the protocol, or if some chips inside this have been going bad, but it's new dongle time. Wish it were a bit more reliable.
