Very nice. For the price, much better construction than I expected. Sat them under a table lamp to charge for about 5 minutes, picked one up to show my wife, covered the solar cell and it turned on. Instructions say to have set "ON" to charge. Don't miss this. Made of plastic ends with sides metal, again pretty sturdy. The hanging clip is sufficiently strong; I plan to hang them under a deck umbrella. Tried in a dim room. The flicker is nice. These lamps are not going to provide a lot of illumination, but are more for mood effect. Don't know how long batteries will last. If they are similar to the lights on top of our rail posts they will burn from twilight till about 5 in the morning with a full charge. I think 3 of them hanging under our 13' and 1 under the 4' umbrellas will look pretty nice.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I bought 8. These are very nice lanterns. While not bright enough to read a book by, they provide decent lighting for my backyard firepit area and look great. I agree with all the positive comments others have made. My one concern is longevity. Like most solar lights, these use an AA NIMH rechargeable battery, in an application where they rarely get fully charged during the day but completely discharged most nights - a recipe for certain early failure. The batteries in these units are soldered in, not plugged in, so the option for refurbishing these units will be somewhat expensive & overly complicated.

These are absolutely lovely and give an old world look to the porch. These lights are fairly bright and have a very flame-like look, without the danger of actual fire. The solar panels charge quickly & puts off a nice, golden, ambient glow when it gets dark.

These are really nice for anywhere. The ambience is pretty. They are decently bright. Maybe not for lighting up an area but maybe lighting up a pathway. They are solar powered and portable so you can take them anywhere. They are very pretty in the fact that they look like a burning candle.

Easy to use. Turn on the power and that’s all there is to it.
