iPad Fast Charger 2.1 amp Light Weight USB Mains Charger

My iPad Retina suddenly refused to charge, well under a year since I bought it. (Though I am a heavy user I still thinks that's not great quality.) In desperation, and wishful thinking, really, I ordered the first replacement charger that sounded trustworthy. Then I left the blasted machine still plugged into the charger overnight in the hope that — somehow — the computer elves might fix it. And they did! Almost. But it had gone from 8% charged and me frantically backing up everything I could think of, expecting sudden death, to 52%. Meanwhile my husband had searched the net for help or even ideas. Turns out I was not alone. As far as I can make out, when, for some so far unspecified reason, your charger is no longer working at a proper speed the iPad fibs and tells you that it's not charging, when actually it is . Just v e r y s l o w l y. I also discovered that almost every web site offering advice claimed you should only ever use a real iPad charger because replacements can't match the transfer speed of the original. But by this time I'd already placed my order for this one so there was nothing much to be done about it, especially when you live some 400 miles and a seven hour drive from the nearest Apple store. As for trying to order online from Apple — are you insane? Apple seem only second to Microsoft in the ingenious ways they can think up *not* to give relevant answers, let alone helpful ones. ("Has this answered your question?" No. "Please click on … " the place you first started from a few centuries ago.) So I waited a couple of days for this gizmo to arrive, in neither hope nor expectation. It arrived today. I plugged it in. Lo! and Behold! It worked! Instantly! And my trusty (hmm …) iPad is now charging at the rate of a battalion of the Highland Light Infantry after three cups of NAAFI coffee. Brilliant! Clearly these guys know what they're doing and, unlike others, are not trying to scam desperate eejits into buying iPhone chargers for their iPads when they simply can't work at the speed necessary for the considerably larger needs of the iPad. Fast delivery. Product works. That's all you need really. And I'd certainly trust them again if I needed to buy any other computer peripherals too.

I have spent far too much money on inferior products in the past. Buy cheap buy twice certainly comes to mind. However this product breaks the mould in the fact it works! I am so pleased with all aspects of this purchase. From the price, delivery, overall service and then to find out it actually charges AND the lead works with no " this is not compatible" warnings appearing on the screen. I would not hesitate to purchase this product or recommend it highly enough. This works perfect on my IPad 3 with Retina display. Thank you IQualTech brilliant service and product!

The charger was bought so that I could charge my iPad in two different locations without having to carry a charger around with me. The new charger is the same specification as the Apple original ie. 2.1 amp and certainly does charge the iPad to full charge. However, I have noticed that while using the iPad while it is charging it does not charge up, it remains on the same percentage charge even though it is indicating that it is charging. Using the iPad while charging using the original Apple charger does charge the iPad. To me this indicates that the new charger has a lower charging current than the original Apple charger.Further to my original review above I was contacted by the seller who was very apologetic and offered to send me another one to try in case the first one was faulty. This was sent very quickly and I have been testing it for a couple of days now. Unfortunately, it is very similar to the first one that was sent in that it does not charge my iPad 4 while I am playing a game even with the screen brightness reduced. This is not a major problem because the charger works in all other respects ie. if you place the iPad on charge while asleep or switched off it does charge to full power. On reflection I think my original rating of 3 stars is a bit harsh and have therefore increased this to 4 stars. If it charged the iPad while in use it would have got 5 stars. I can recommend this seller to others as he genuinely wants you to be happy with your purchase and is only too willing to help sort out any problems you may have with your purchase.

I am thinking of returning the product on the grounds it was sold to me as a fast charger, yet is is not as described. Compared to the charging unit from Apple that came with my iPad, this sellers charger is incredible slow and should NOT be described as a FAST charger. The Genuine Apple charger takes 2-3 hours to 100% charge an Ipad from less than 10% power. This charger can only reach about 20% - 30% in the same time and I have never left the charging unit on for more than 6 hours as it starts to get very warm. My concerned is this charger could be a fire risk if left on for too long.Clearly the seller has either not tested the product, or if they have, I have been sold a faulty charger. Either way, I would welcome a response from the seller to explain why they have sold a product under false pretenses.

Apple seem to make their own cables out of Plasticine - the one supplied all of two months ago with my daughter's brand new iPad gave up the ghost - mind you she had been moaning that it was taking ages to charge up anyway.Saw this charger on Amazon and thought it had to be worth a punt - absolutely delighted - turned up next day, charges faster than the old one (even when it was working)- definitely worth a go.

Great at a good price. Ordered one day and received the next which was great as my original charger had gone bang so without this great service I would have been without my right hand (I-Pad) as it was I ordered about 7 at night and it was with me early afternoon the nest day. So far working well and as I said at a much lower price than the original replacement would have been. Thank you one very happy bloke.

Shame that this item didn't live up to expectations or the seller's standard of customer service. The first one I received was very slow to charge my iPad 4 and the seller immediately sent a replacement. Unfortunately this was no better, crawling to fully charge my device in nearly 11 hours, somewhat longer than the claimed time. The iPad battery also continued to discharge whilst plugged into the mains. On the plus side the charger works but I wouldn't buy again.
