Have bought these batteries for my cordless phone. What is the initial procedure - do I have to leave the handset on the base for any time first ???

Yes. These batteries are provided in a flat state. Simply place them into the handset and leave the handset on the cradle to fully charge the batteries for around 16-18 hours. Please make sure the phone is connected to the mains

are they only for BT phones

No, they will work in any make of phone that uses this type of battery.

If I buy these batteries for my BT Graphite phone set - doi need to buy a battery charger as well?

My BT phones recharge these batteries when the handset is in its base. I would assume that your dose the same. If you do not have the original instructions to check you my be able to find them on the internet.

The first time these batteries are used, do you have to completely discharge them before charging again?

Hi there, I guess it depends what you are using them for. I have used them in a house phone and they just recharge every time the phone is placed back on the receiver. I have never let them discharge and so far they are working fine.
