Braun Clean & Renew Refill Cartridges CCR - 4 Count

I have used this with both my shavers I currently alternate between : a Series 7 shaver (purchased July 2016) and my Series 9 (also purchased in July 2016, when the old Series 7 failed), so I have used these refills for 7 years now and they keep you razor head in top condition, in fact I have only replace a razor head once, which is well below what Braun recommend but they heads still cut perfectly, and yes I DO have spare heads already purchased should I need to change them, so it isn't a matter of the money. Some people just use the brush a few time then use the cleaner on the 3rd or 4th time, but I brush the excess off the head and shaver first, then I use the cleaner after EVERY shave, this way the cartridges will last longer too. Conclusion : I have used Braun shavers for many, many years now and using the "Clean and Renew" system is far better than just brushing and washing under the tap as I did before I got the Series 7 and 9, and I was at that time having to renew the head every year as well, which was expensive (heads are going up in price all the time by the way !) it is MUCH cheaper to use the 'Clean and Renew' system in the long run. I can't recommend this system, enough and it gets 5 stars all day long from me.

Second expensive Braun shaver (£300+) owned to date (but have had so many brands over the years and last Braun lasted 15 years). To ensure it survives - I buy the original cartridges. I have tried man times to buy alternatives but keep coming back to these originals as the liquid not only cleans better but per litre (in this particular case), they can be purchased for similar money as the generic / refill versions which can require work to install. Pros: No messing about, they fit and they work well with the razor cleaner. 6 for nearly the price of 3 - is a real bargain. When used, the smell is citrusy and fresh. Cons: The price, I'm not sure why these are always so expensive (as they are basically fancy alcohol) when compared to other brands but they do work, so if like me, you want to keep your razor running smoothly - then these are the best.

I will try to write down the first impressions after 3 weeks with this machine. However, keep in mind it's my first electrical shaver so I can only compare it to a wet shave with razors. 1) The package I have to admit I was quite impressed. Everything in the package is put in an orderly manner and well packed. It impressed me that the machine itself was wrapped in plastic for extra hygiene. The package also includes one Clean and Renew cartridge, a nice pouch to be used to carry the machine, the charger, the cleaning and charging mechanism, a little cleaning brush and instructions. 2) The machine The machine itself is fabulous. Since I used to shave with a razor, it took my skin approximately a week to get accustomed to the electrical shaver. Now, shaving is really comfortable and I really appreciate I do not have to wet my face early in the morning or late at night, in order to shave. It actually does not take many moves to achieve a close shave. It needs a few moves but on various directions over the same spot to assure that every hair is cut. The only part of the face, where the machine does not do very well is on the neck. The skin there is not completely smooth, the hair is growing towards "weird" directions and some hair (not many) are left uncut. However the number of uncut hair is so small you don't even notice. The machine itself is really ergonomic and the design is very modern. 3) The Clean & Renew system When I first used my machine after it was cleaned, I realized I did good I chose a machine with this system. After the cleaning, it feels that the machine has not been used. The smell and sense of it, is great. It is also good to know that the solution used also sanitizes the machine (so in case someone else needs to use it there is no need to worry - you just use the Clean and Renew System). However, if you remove the blades after the cleaning process has been completed, you can still see hair in the inside mechanism. I used the little cleaning brush to remove them. It is not a big deal, since most of the cut hair is removed by the Clean & Renew system, but it's still not perfect. One extra thing I like is the blue led system. It gives a futuristic look. 4) Conclusion I do not give 5 stars because of the difficulty I face in the neck area and because the Clean and Renew System does not remove every hear. However, the machine is worth every cent. It is very effective, it has a nice design and the Clean and Renew system gives another nice and useful touch. I believe it is actually cheap for what it offers and I would recommend it to everyone that goes for a mid-range electric shaving machine.

Great product. I use these with my Braun shaver and usually stock up when I need replacements. They do an excellent job of keeping the shaver clean, fresh, and hygienic between uses. Easy to install and long-lasting. A great product that I would highly recommend.

Great clean

I was staggered that the store that sold the shaver [ OK-it was B***s] do not sell the very important replacements for the cleaner that it such a feature of this model. They seemed to have no interest in the steady revenue potential of people like me needing to pop by very few months to get a new cartridge! Well - Amazon did not disappoint! There it was and a good price too - so I bought a pack. The lack of instructions - neither the original nor the replacements explained the knack of getting the old one out without making a mess and there is no advice on recycling and it would seem desirable and economically worth accepting returns for refilling or else - best of all? - selling the fluid for users to refill the cleaning tank maybe? The repacement unit is fine! It is good to have a sanitised, clean, fresh-smelling shaver but if I had realised that it would be a chore to get refills etc. , I may have opted for another model and used tapwater! Amazon has made it simple to obtain and saved a lot of chasing round shops to find refills because it will not function without , once the shaver cleaner decides it is time to change the liquid!
