Just started using this little guy. For the size and price this is a must have purchase for on the go sounds. It has a great sound but of course not massive volume, but more than you'd think considering the size. The quality is amazing though, so much so I am going to order another one of these for those stereo moments. The battery life is a big positive factor also as it seems to never want to run out. It is easy to use and pair, basically Bluetooth pair and away you go.

Great little speaker. Dead easy to set up. Very long battery life between charges. Fantastic frequency range. Good max volume. Excellent prduct at a very sensible price.

I am really knocked out by these. I have bought two now, one for the bedroom and one for the car. Connect to your phone with bluetooth on and Spotify is a breeze. Battery charge lasts a long time, easy to charge with the supplied USB-C cable. I am really impressed with the sound. Despite it's diminutive size, the sound is full and the bass is sonorous. Sound easily fills my (small) living room or bedroom. Good quality Sony build quality. Best standalone bluetooth speaker I've used and excellent value for money.

I'm a bit of a Sony fan-boy and so thought I'd try this out after losing my JBL clip 3. Perhaps I overhyped what I thought this wee speaker from Sony would be like, but it pales in comparison to JBL equivalent. The Sony is loud enough but doesn't sound as dynamic or as 'full' as the Clip. Ended up returning it for the JBL Clip 4, not looked back at all. The JBL sounds better, buttons are a little easier to feel for (and understand the function of the button by touch without having to see the buttons), attaches more easily to packs etc and can take a fair beating.

Beautiful quality of sound, great range so you can hear all the instruments together. Powerful for a small speaker, crisp and clear. Love it and worth every penny.

Bought this speaker on 27th May but it suddenly stopped working on 10th August - no power and wouldn't charge. Because it was not eligible for an Amazon return after 30 days, I called Sony who said it was beyond economic repair, gave me a case number and said to contact Amazon who would arrange a replacement. Did that on 11th August and an Amazon agent said that they would contact the third party seller and ensure a replacement would be sent out to by 10pm on 12th August. It didn't arrive. Contact another agent on 13th August who said that they don't arrange replacements via third party sellers and I could only have a refund. So incorrect info given by the agent. Have seen a few other reviews that say the unit stopped working after a short time and this is not what I would expect from a brand like Sony.

The lack of an aux port as compared to the previous (now harder to buy) iteration is a major flaw for this product. For what it's worth, it's definitely able to take a few hard knocks. The lanyard strap came undone whilst hanging off a sling bag, when descending the stairs, causing the speaker to take a tumble onto the hard concrete stairs. Apart from that permanent nick, and some dust, the speaker was unaffected. This speaker does not have "low latency", due to the Bluetooth profiles it supports, nor a low latency mode.

I was skeptical of sound quality since all YouTube reviewers mention some other brand speaker (JBL, Soundcore, “insert brand here”) is better sounding, has more bass, blah, blah, blah… I’ve been using a JBL charge 3 and JBL Xtreme 1 for a few years now. But when I first connected to this Sony XB13, I was amazed at how clear and well balanced it was. It is not a loud speaker, but it is loud enough to be able to hear your music indoors and out. Oddly enough, I find the sound quality to be better than the JBL charge 3, albeit, it is not as loud as the charge 3 and doesn’t have as much bass. However, if you prefer a clear sounding speaker that doesn’t sound muffled because it’s trying to make more bass, this is a speaker you must try. In terms of physical size, the diameter is about the same as a charge 3 (slightly smaller) and length wise, you will need 2.5 XB13s to be the same length as 1 charge 3. The quality of material is also very nice. It may not be as durable as the charge 3 if you are throwing it around and dropping it often because it will get scuffed and scratched, but I figure by the time it gets sufficiently damaged on the exterior, there will be a better speaker on the market at a similarly affordable price. All in all, I highly recommend this speaker!
