I put cages on all my cameras and was dubious whether I really wanted a half-cage. Well this is actually really good and don't think I'll run out of fixing points soon. I did also buy a handle and that has additional ones. With that combination it's a really good accessory and recommended.

I’m a Sony FX3 owner so was curious to try this half cage and see how it felt to use.It comes boxed in a little cardboard box like other competitors and well packaged to protect it in transitWhen you open it up and get it out it feels strong and solid and almost unbreakableOn the top of the half cage itself you get a cold shoe mount which could come in handy for lights or microphones etcYou also get a useful nato rail for the top of your FX3 that simply attaches by screwing it into the two holes on top of your camera that are already thereThe half cage itself comes with a little magnetic screwdriver that slots into the base of it (again like its competitors)Attach the half cage to your camera using two screws provided - one underneath to the base of your camera and the other is on the side - a two minute job that’s super easy to doOnce attached it feels like you added strength to an already solid camera as well as you now have mounting screw holes for accessories and a cold shor mountIt doesn’t interfere with any camera buttons or operation and adds more versatility to your cameraIt also has an arca Swiss baseplate for using on gimbals and tripods which is a nice touchAlso has a strap slot but I don’t use straps so can’t tell you if that’s good or not but good to have the optionOverall a very solid and sturdy product that gives you more options for your camera

Very satisfied with this Neewer camera cage. It is lightweight and portable, making good use of the FX30's existing handle on one side while providing loads of versatility to create mounting options for peripherals on the remaining three sides with cold shoe mounting at the top and numerous 1/4-inch holes for added mounting options. It is an excellent starting point for building your rig and great value for its price.

Nice cage and fits well - true about the scratches mentioned in other reviews. Sadly when the screw side handle is mounted to the left the overhang from the screw mounts means the HDMI port door does not full open. So any HDMI cable is not going in straight. A thin profile HDMI might work - but I'm yet to find one thin enough for a 4K output.

I recently received my Sony FX3's half-camera cage, and I'm impressed. The aluminium alloy design is extremely durable and lightweight at the same time. My camera stays securely in place thanks to the 4-point secure locking system, so there won't be any shaky video.The quick switch between my gimbal and tripod is perfect. It's a flexible cage that maintains accessibility thanks to its numerous mounting points. This cage is a need for every filmmaker or content creator because of the thoughtful details, such as the strap slot and screwdriver that are included. I carry it around everywhere with me. Highly recommended.
