USB 3.0 can work, but it can't reach USB 3.0 The transmission speed of 0, is only USB2 Speed of 0.

Will this work on a eero router and a Dell laptop?

You should always look at the routers specs. Routers usually have 1 or more Rj45 port(s) then it should work, but there may be something on the router you'll have to configure to allow network connectivity. If your laptop has a usb port it should work. Hope that helps.

Perfect for the Cisco technician

Finding a USB to serial converter that work well for the provided console cables is always a little hit or miss. Sometimes just finding the driver is a headache. with these cables, just plug it into the USB port and windows recognizes it immediately. No drivers to download, just plug it in and Putty or SecureCRT sees it and I am able to go right to work.

Cable was defective

Edit: The seller reached out to me and gave me a full refund, a year after my purchase. Great customer service, and I probably just received a defective unit. I will probably purchase another cable from this seller since their customer service is on point.I bought this product to occasionally connect to my networking equipment's console ports. I used it once in May of last year, then once a few days ago with no issue. Today, I plugged in the cable to my computer's USB port and it was not detected. I tried several different ports and even a different computer but could not get it to work. Between uses I kept the cable neatly coiled up in the same manner as it was shipped, inside the original bag. I was not abusive to the cable in any way, so I do not see why it broke so quickly.

It Works!

I bought this to replace the computer interface cable of my mini-tower computer's UPS that was lost during a move. The cable works and the computer and UPS can talk with each other again!

Worked out of the box, seems well made.

Worked great out of the box for connecting to a network switch. Drivers installed automatically on win 10, and connected up using putty with no issues. The USB end is a bit bulky, but thats where the chip is so it is to be expected.
