Something had to give
I do not generally buy foodstuffs on line, preferring to shop locally, but as I now live over a one hour (each way) drive from a decent authentic supplier something had to give. I would have made a test purchase of just one 200g packet had this been possible, but that would have been a mistake as when mailing three together they become robust enough to withstand being posted in just a padded envelope. This relieved a minor concern, and has saved the need for a rapid re-order.I suspect that these are hand made, being very slightly varied in size, shape, and thickness. Not enough variation to matter once cooked, of course. I did need to find a different container, though, as my current one was just a few millimetres too small. The flavour is most pleasing, and vastly better than the pre-cooked sort that is all I can obtain round here. Even if one could guarantee freshness I suspect that the supermarket product is designed mainly to survive handling, rather than for delicate texture and flavour as are the Lijjat variety. Each 200g packet contains about 14 pappadoms. I find that frying them quickly in pairs at 180 degrees C in flavourless oil, then a few minutes to drain (on edge) in a 100 degrees C oven, gives me good results.

ok ! for price
Place no more than 2 un a microwave safe plate not stacked, heat for 1 min max, crispy poppadoms, flavour is fairly bland but great with curry. marked down for flavour as they have none unless buyer adds salt and pepper, had these come in flavoured they would have got 5 stars. too bland to eat on their own, but handy and quick.

Poor quality
Have bought these on several occasions and they tasted authentic with good texture. However the recipe has changed they are is thin as rice paper, they break as soon as you pick them up to put it in the oil. Unusual texture. Overwhelming salt taste. If you like an authentic pompadum you should avoid these!Unfortunately bought several packets and have missed the return window - destination the bin!

Authentic product, easy to cook and great value for money
This is an easy product to recommend. A simple side dish they may be, but they add such an authentic touch to your home-cooked curries. They're the perfect size for home use, needing only an ordinary sized frying pan and they can even be baked for less fat! Keep them cool and dry in a tin and they last for ages. The packaging is cute - the pink bunny looks so delighted, who could resist? I've been buying these pappadum for many years, this was the first time online (due to the pandemic) and I would happily recommend them to anyone, even those who don't eat curries!

Disappointing
Having bought these several times before with good results, this lot proved a real disappointment. The papad were seriously stuck together with some sort of oil, and could only be separated with a knife. With oil at precisely 200°C they turned deep brown in less than 2 secs, without expanding to the usual size. Cooked, they proved hard, brittle, and tasted stale. Not a good experience. I won't risk buying these again.

Delivery
Lovely product itself, but let down by the delivery or fragile packaging as 50% arrived squashed and broken into the pieces
