You get ONE EXCELLENT LARGE rod as shown in the pictures very clearly.The dimensions are 6 inch length by 1/2 inch width also shown clearly in the pictures. The written description is worded badly by writing 6 x1/2, What the seller means is 6 inch length X 1/2 inch width so ignore the buyer that mistakenly ignored all the pictures and thought they were getting 6 really tiny 1/2 inch length flints which would have been too small to use unless you were a Lilliputian andi is definitely not shown in any of the pictures!!The string has a toggle that can be opened if you wish to attach the striker to the rod as mine arrived separate, but it's much easier to use with it separate so I've put a small carbiner clip on the striker so I can attach to the rod when in storage but separate it when in use.The black coating needs to be scraped off with a few strikes before sparks will fly but as the coating comes off to reveal the silver rod underneath then you start to see some good spark action.The rod is relatively heavy due to its large size ( similar to the weight of a mobile phone) but personally think it's size makes it much easier to use & harder to lose!Nice added bonus of being able to use it as a bottle opener and having a parracord.Nice quality rod to add to any camping/survival kit unless you really need to have something much smaller and lighter

Great product, great size for holding, even with a failing grip. This will last a long time, even with my children starting the fire

Great piece, works well. Plenty of sparks and good length makes it easier to start a fire.Only downside is lack of a brighter colour so you don't misplace it after use (I've not lost it yet though haha).Definitely worth getting this one over some others.

I thought I was buying 6x 1/2" ferocerium rods, but in fact I recieved 1x 6" x 1/2". Misleading or perhaps badly worded sales tag line. In short, ended up with 1 huge fero rod instead of 6 average sized ones that I anticipated.

What a brilliant flint and steel! It arrived today and we just sat next to the first fire that created with the help of it.It just took me a minute to work out the best way to scrape the steel along the flint and plenty of sparks started flying - very satisfying to see this and my boys were also impressed!Nb: The flint of very easy to hold due to its size.
