Martin/ F. Weber Bob Ross Basic Oil Paint Set (R6505)

I had never painted before. EVER. After watching countless Bob Ross episodes, simply for the mental massage it provides, I finally decided to pull the trigger on this inexpensive kit. I'll give my impression, but keep in my I have literally NO frame of reference. I thought the paints were great! They seems thick and easy to use. I didn't have a palette, so I actually used a piece of cardboard, which wasn't ideal, but worked. I didn't have an easel either, so my kitchen table covered in paper towels became my art studio. I picked up a couple 11" x 14" pre-stretched canvases, and went to town. After applying the liquid white in a thin coat, I picked up a bit of phthalo blue on my 1" brush, and started in on my sky. And went about half way down the canvas, leaving some light cloudy areas, and BOOM - Beautiful blue sky! I put a bit of titanium white on my cardboard palette, and this is when I realized I was in trouble. I had no way to clean my brush! I did my best with some water (doesn't work) and even nail polish remover (doesn't work and smells horrible), and of course rubbed as much as I could off on some paper towels. I decided to go for it anyway. I loaded up a bit of white, and went in to create my happy, free clouds that just play all day up in the sky. They came out pretty good. I was impressed with it. I went on to try and create a nice landscape with trees and brush. This didn't work out so well. With all the blue and white on the brush, there was just not much I could do. I ended up blending the whole canvas together in one big mess, grabbing my knife, and trying my hand at some mountains. My painting, in the end, was not what I was expecting at all, but I was still very happy with it. I've since put in an order for a 2" brush, a number 6 fan brush, and some odorless thinner. I can't wait to start my second painting! Highly recommend this set, just be sure to pick up the few extras!

This was the perfect starter set for our youngest, who has recently taken up painting after watching me paint and being enchanted by Bob Ross. We added a small palette (she’s 11, so a standard size would be too big for her to manage), a set of palette knives, and a pile of both black and white canvas. If you’re gifting this or are new to painting with oils, make sure you get the accompanying chemicals for priming, cleaning your brushes, etc. (Oh, and jars. You’re gonna want jars.) We’re happy with the set, and she can sit down with just about any episode that’s on the Bob Ross channel and have everything she needs to complete the project.

I got this gift for my boyfriend for Christmas last year! We set up in our living room, drank some wine, and Bob Rossed! It was such a fun experience for us to do together. There is only one of each tool in the kit, but we went and bought another set for cheap. There was plenty of paint for the both of us to paint our pictures. We were both so impressed with how they turned out even though they were both so different. Totally recommend this!

Very upset with this purchase! I bought this set as a gift for my 9 year old, who is obsessed with Bob Ross and painting. Definitely not worth the $70.00 I paid. The first time my son used the set, one of the paintbrushes cracked and is now useless because the paint won't come out of it. Second, the paints don't dry. My son painted a landscape on a canvas that still is wet to touch almost one month later. He used a thin coat of paint also! Third, the set comes with next to nothing--a few tubes of paint and a couple brushes. So not worth the $70.00. Very disappointed!!

Bob Ross is the Best! I love my paint set and I am in the middle of painting the most beautiful painting ever! Thank You Amazon for making this very affordable and convenient for me to order! The quality of the oil paints are top notch and the brushes are absolutely true to Bob Ross. It is a much better Price than the local craft stores so I save money too! I will order this again! kit comes shrinkwrapped and the paints come in boxes, so this was packed wrong from the start. was missing alizaren crimson, which was vital to produce the painting. otherwise good kit for first time painters. now i know to get more brushes and paint thinner to clean them.

BOB ROSS PAINTS ARE MORE EXPENSIVE THAN SOME OTHERS BUT HAVE A UNIQUE QUALITY TO THEM IN AS MUCH AS THEY CAN BE THINNED RELATIVELY EASILY, AND ARE EXCELLENT FOR HIS FAMOUS BOB ROSS WET ON WET TECHNIQUES! BE PREPARED TO PRACTICE AND GET ADDICTED!!

Bei Lieferung war die äußere Plastikbox komplett zerstört, offensichtlich lag etwas schweres auf meinem Paket. Kein Abzug dafür, ist ja nicht der Verkäufer dran Schuld. An sich ein schönes Set, dass nicht mehr viele Ergänzengen braucht um durchzustarten. Über die Qualität kann ich noch nichts sagen, da es ein Geschenk und noch ungetestet ist.
