Good quality for the $
Remarkably good quality for the price, expectations were surpassed! Even has a black light built in for viewing inflorescence of bacterial cultures.I am a field agronomist and this tool is handy for identifying insect and disease organisms accurately.

30x actually, and blurry...
The two submitted photos were taken with an iPhone XS with the addition of 1.9x zoom in the Camera app, photographing a microscope calibration slide on top of a light box (back illuminated). The line in the center of the circle is 1mm in length, divided into 100. Each division is .01mm or 10 microns. The first photo shows the active eye unit is able to resolve the longer .05mm division lines, but blurs all the smaller lines together. "Focussing" either by adjusting the barrel or attempting to change focus on the phone does not help. The second photos was taken with a BeLOMO 20x hand lens clamped to the same phone and shows that most of the smallest division lines can be resolved. The active eye unit only delivers 1.5 the number of pixels over the 1mm scale compared to the 20x BeLOMO, so it seems clear this is actually a 30x unit. The blurriness lowers it below the 20x however in resolving power, as shown by the images. On the positive side the attached illumination is nice, and being set up to rest on the clear ring below the lens makes it easier to hold still. On balance though, I'd rather struggle for good results with the BeLOMO hack than have them be unattainable with the active eye. But the BeLOMO 20x is ~3 times the price of this cheap unit, so I guess it's value is decent.

Pretty cool.
I work with plants, so there's always some sort of insect around to take a closer look at. Amazed at seeing the beneficial wasp next to the aphid mummy!

Lots of fun!
This microscope for your cell phone is inexpensive at 13 bucks, so much fun and really easy to use. The pics are of two different strains of cannabis sativa. Some reviews have said it doesn't work. Those folks might not have realized that they still had to adjust the camera focus to zoom in, then the microscope does the rest. It is even lighted, with a white LED and also a UV light! Great for kids to see stuff up close like pollen on flowers and on bees if you can get them to sit still for a minute. The bees, not the kids. Well, the kids too because you'll be zooming in on stuff all day for them to "oooh yuck!" (slug) & "aaah" (butterfly wing) over and even "way cool!" (spider web).

Men and their toys.
My husband bought this. I have no idea why. He doesn't use it. I told him not to get it.

Works great after a minor adjustment.
I found that using a little bit industrial velcro on the clip and on my phone holds the clip in place, then I use a hair band to keep the focus in place. Works great!!

A good deal
The product was OK. Not spectacular but OK. Take some time aligning for a clear picture.

Use your phones zoom for even better enhancement and take pictures or record videos
Cheap but does the job of devices 10x the price. Use your phones zoom for even better enhancement and take pictures or record videos. Pretty awesome. Works well with iPhone.
