what is the smart bridge ?

The smart bridge can be understood as the bridge connecting the smart roller blinds and the voice/mobile control system. With the smart bridge, you can use the voice control system (such as Alex, google) and the mobile app to control the roller blinds remotely.

What are the dimensions of the top piece (mount/motor area)? Wondering how deep it is to see if it will fit between my windows and shutters

Don't know exact dimensions, but is about the same as regular shades

Can the blinds be controlled with Amazon or Google Home?

The RF remote is what controls the blinds. Instruction is poorly adopted to Americal English, but after reading it few times you can figure how to: * connect single remote to multiple blinds * connect multiple remotes to same blinds However, the instruction has no information about connecting to any "real" smart system, either over Wi-Fi or Zigbee. So, for me the answer is NO. If there is any additional hardware (what is that about USB, do I need a separate computer or PI for that?) which would link that RF remote to Alexa/ Google/ Apple, then that kind of solution is not documented. Maybe, eventually, the makers of the blinds would release some additional "smart" kit to connect the RF remote to Alexa etc.

Can these be used for patio doors if attached above the door itself?

Because the motorized roller blind contains a motor, it is necessary to avoid rain and moisture erosion as much as possible. It is recommended that you can hang it on the patio door in the indoor direction.
