from what age is it suitable? My son is 4 is that too young?

It depends on your son but I have played this with my granddaughter when she was 4 and she is 14 now and still loves it. My two younger ones have played this from and 6 and 9 and they enjoy it. It is well worth getting as it is a great game for adults also, I love it. You can adapt it for your 4 year old to make it simpler until he gets used to it, have fun

Does this version have blank tiles?

No, which is a shame as it would be quite easy to lose an odd tile

is the junior rummykub letters or numbers ?

Hi I have never seen junior rummykub . I have the one made by pressman. Its great my grandaughter 9 plays it with us She loves it, often beats us. I have been so pleased with the game I have bought 3 more as presents. I did forget to mention that the pressman rummykub has numbers and so is easy for children to follow.Regards
