Great manual mower for the enthusiastic mower
This mower is great. It's all chain driven from a series of rollers and no wheels, which means you get good stripes even on a single pass, without wheel tracks. Instructions are clear and help with the setup of the mower. As long as you follow the instructions it will work fine (as with many things in life). Some have moaned the front roller squashes the grass down and doesn't cut it, yes it will do that if you don't mow your grass frequently but properly maintained lawns will spring back up before the blade and be cut just fine. If you don't have the time or see as cutting the lawn more as a chore then this probably isn't for you. The collection bag works fine catching everything that pops up. Tho, as with a lot of front bagged cylinder mowers, it can be hard to see where to line up your next stripe. I can zip round my lawns without any issues even on my bumpy back lawn, tho on the highest setting. The resulting cut is fantastic and really makes a difference on how the lawn looks and grows afterwards. It's also fantastic for the late night mowing when the kids are in bed and you don't want to wake them. Only gripe I have is it could be heavier, in this case the lawn mower being heavier will help produce more defined stripes, but I'll have to settle for doing multiple passes. In conclusion; If mowing is a chore, this is not for you. If your willing to put some time and effort in this will help you produce fantastic results.

It's good but they don't make them like they used to!
I'm very fond of manual/push mowers to cut my lawn, especially with the electricity prices so high right now and they don't look to be lowering any time soon! Other benefits are that it keeps you fit, but to be fair this Webb mower is very light in comparison to even your normal electric rotary mowers, and much lighter than gas mowers, so not too heavy to push around. These types of manual/push mowers produce less noise too, but they are not silent by any stretch of the imagination, personally, I find the whirring of the chain inside the mower to be quite therapeutic! The Webb is a good mower, and by today's standards, I would say it's the best of what's currently available, but if we compare this to a vintage mower such as a Ransomes Ajax from the 1930-1970s, then the Webb falls short because they genuinely made them to last back in the day, and the Ransomes quality was so much better. The Webb has a plastic top, with many different plastic parts including the large rear roller..it's a shame they're not building these to last any more, especially with all the modern technology we have at our disposal these days, you'd think it would be much easier for them, (but I guess they are engineered to fail to keep us buying more). Where the Webb shines most though is that it's super light, especially in comparison to vintage versions, so for anyone that has difficulty with strength etc, then the Webb is perfect. Now some people complain about these types of mowers not doing a very good job, HOWEVER, please understand that the Webb is what I would call a 'finishing' mower, and it's very good at keeping short grass short, with a much better cut than you would get off of a rotary. If you're expecting this mower to cut long grass then you will be disappointed. I use my Webb in the following way.. For the first mow after winter, if my grass is long, I will use my electric mower once or twice to get the grass down nice and short and pick up any leaves etc, after that I will use the Webb to keep the grass nice and short all through spring, summer and autumn if the weather has been particularly bad, I may even get my rotary out again once or twice, and then it's back to the Webb. This saves a lot of electricity and is great for my health. The Webb has a 12-inch, 5-bladed hardened steel cutting cylinder and an adjustable cut height of 13mm to 23.5mm I hope this review helps someone out there, and happy mowing!

Fantastic cut
Had this mower 2 months now Great bit of kit for lawn enthusiast that isn't ready to part ways with ££££ on a traditional powerd unit. Positives; Easy to assemble Easy to adjust height of cut Easy to adjust cylinder for precise cut Well built heavy enough to leave a good stripe, light enough for anyone to manoeuvre Easy to store Great price at the time of my purchase for impatient people like me that want it next day. You don't need a bowling green level flat garden this machine it can cope with uneven ground to an extent. Negatives; Only downside to this machine is you may become abit obsessed with cutting the lawn as the ease of grabbing this out the shed and running over your grass is second to none and in no time will your lawn start looking alot more healthy with the reel leaveing a nice crisp clean cut to the blade thus helping premote new growth.

Simply the best
This is not a grass cutter .It is a lawn mower. It is an excellent piece of machinery. I am delighted with my purchase. Easy to assemble and when adjusted it cuts the lawn beautifully. Well done Web.

Very disappointed
Very disappointed! We purchased it because of the name Webb and it being British. it looked sturdy. Having followed the instructions and putting the mower together The handles are very loose and feel quite fragile, despite tightening the two bolts as best we can. It doesn’t feel as if it will last very long. We had a basic Bosch pull mower for many years and that felt really solid for £50. I would not advise you to buy this Webb mower.

Quality of this mower.
This mower is just as easy to push as any electric mower when it is set up correctly. It makes a great job of my lawns and does not require a lot of storage space. An excellent machine.

Excellent cutting quality sadly let down by flimsy build.
PLUS POINTS: * The Webb WEH 12R carries out its basic function really well. Its five-bladed cylinder cuts grass very cleanly, and the rear roller leaves nice stripes. * Grass clippings are efficiently delivered into the collector box - no side spill. * It’s as easy as my old Hayter Envoy electric to push - and there’s no damn cable to keep tripping you up! * There’s no engine noise - instead just a strangely pleasing mechanical whirring sound as you work your way up and down the lawn. Very neighbour-friendly, too! * Nice retro looks. The dark green colour and red cylinder blades remind me of my Dad’s old petrol-driven Atco, which is how I earned my pocket money in the 1960s - happy days! So. a lot of mower for the money, but frankly I’d rather pay 50% extra and have all the quality issues listed below sorted out by Webb. MINUS POINTS: * I’ve had to resort to glueing together (!) the two upper sections of the push handle with Araldite, as the butterfly bolts on their own aren’t man enough for the job and the handle keeps working loose. * The push handle won’t stay upright when you empty the grass collector box - it just flops down, tipping up the mower, which is most annoying. * Re-fitting the grass box onto the mower is more of a fiddle than it has any right to be. * The fabric grass box is not particularly robust, but I do wonder if the people complaining that ‘it falls apart’ have actually assembled it correctly - the plastic edges must be properly snapped over the wire frame all round, which takes some determination. * One of the two screws securing the side panel covering the chain drive fell off on day 3, so I’ve had to Threadlock both of them to avoid a repeat performance. * Symbolically. both ‘Webb’ stickers started peeling off, and I’ve had to superglue them back on. Oh dear. Sorry my review is longer than the Partygate Report, but I hope people find this useful.

Convenient, Reliable and Better for your Lawn
Just right for my small lawn (300 sq ft) Easier to get this out than trailing electrical cables downstairs from my maisonette to the garden. Cuts sharply and neatly. Took a bit of trial and error to adjust the blades so they engaged properly. Used several times a week for two seasons. Haven't cleaned or oiled once, but still working well. Plastic knobs for adjusting blade height got knocked off eventually, so now need a spanner, but it's a quick job. Well priced, and you get a bit of exercise.
