Adjustable Metal Rotary Circle Graphic Paper Cutter Button Maker (1" to 2-1/4")

This is not a terrible product, but it is missing little things that make the more expensive version (like on American Button Maker Machines or Buttons Online). This is most definitely made of metal and it most definitely sturdy.However, the blade that cuts is a stationary and when the blade needs to be replaced the buy won’t have any idea what type of replaceable blade it is. For the record; the blades are OLFA COB-1.They will need to be purchased online for USA buyers. Amazon, at the time of this review, has listings for the OLFA COB-1 blades.The tool itself is rotary, but the blade is a stationary blade. The more expensive ones have the blade also being a rotary blade. The stationary blade design means that the blade can only go one way without tearing up the paper you are working on.Second, there are no instructions! I poked around and figured out what it needs to work, but it would have been nice to have some guidance. The Allen or hex key easily goes in the hole on the side of the metal circle into the center key hole to allow for adjusting the sliding bar with the blade. However there is no way to know exactly where you need slide the bar in order to get any size. Your sorta have to guess. The other, more expensive circle cutters have some sort of guide to help adjust the size to the right size. This same opening can easily assist in unscrewing the blade. But, if there is maintenance I cannot tell you what to do.Third, Its actually really hard to line up a graphic. Not something I was expecting. You probably need to design some sort guide to help cut the right size and right spot.Bottom line, this is super bare bones. Its not a bad cutter, but without little things explained it can very quickly be frustrating. Especially with the seller not answering question accurately. I found their answer to what are the replacement blades; "the blade can buy material market store.and its easy to replace it . By TOPSELLER INC SELLER on November 4, 2017" to just piss me off. The blades are not accessible in every country in the same way.But I've done the digging and I hope this review helps anyone else who was curious.

I bought it to cut to perfect size filter papers for a moca pot. Sadly this item uses a razor blade to do the cutting which means thin paper will bunch up and tare. I wish it was the old industrial style "Spinning Razor DISK" to cut. That would be so much better. Unless your cutting card stock or something beefy you may want to pass. I gave a 3 star because the construction was excellent quality. The search is still on for something that has a ring frame but uses a spinning razor wheel.

Blade only lasted about 150 paper circles. ??? Need replacement blades.
