Would the "audio only" earphones not work if plugged into an apple or android device? if not, will it work with all other mp3 devices?

So long as the plug is a standard 3mm they are all the same length, the one without a microphone has two sections on the plug, the other with mic will have three. Its more likely that the earphones with 3 sections might have a problem with a sound only device. Any MP3 player that has 3mm sound socket will work with audio only earphones. Hope this helps.
