Wow, this is the greatest home improvement project my husband and I have ever done. The adhesive lies flat on the floor which we do too sometimes, so it’s nice that it’s flat on the surface when you have to lie or step over it. My husband came home and I had already started. We finished it together and then he took over on me. With his strong hands and my personal physique and allure just an arms length away from him, he kept working towards me and then he was done. And it looks fantastic. Completely the same color and finish of the old wooden original threshold, which comes in quite handy when he wants to play with our daughter and slide a toy puck into each other. He’d be in the kitchen and she’d be in the rumpus room and they’d slide it back and forth, but the raised shape of the old threshold was ruining everything. Every time they’d slide it, it would hit that thing and the plastic puck would fly everywhere. That’s only the start of suffering, because it was loose and if you’d trip on it, it would fly away under your feet. We tried and tried to glue it down with a number of epoxies and sticks of alum, but to no avail. Finally, we got fed up with it and looked each other in the eyes and said to each other, —Darn it, this is ridiculous, let’s do something together as couple.’ and so we did. We couldn’t believe how quick and easy it was and even the guy at the hardware store said It’s so easy any woman can do it.’ I figured, I’m a woman so I must be able to do it. I figured, before the male even gets home I’ll have it done and that hardware hunk was right, but we didn’t like the way that clerk looked at me and kept smiling, my husband doesn’t mind because it happens quite often and it gives him a thrill to think of. That’s why we decided to buy it from Amazon instead. We like the fact that when we buy from Amazon, we don’t have to worry about clerks checking me out too slowly just to talk to me and then drive home. This adhesive turned out to be the easiest home improvement project we’ve ever done and it only took about 10 minutes and wha la, instant equity. And it’s so similar to the old one that no one would ever dream that it was new, they’d just feel a little relieved that they didn’t trip over it this time. That’s great because we wanted to keep it as discreet as possible because we were so embarrassed about it that we didn’t want to bring attention to it as my husband’s colleagues have beautiful homes themselves. Thanks to this product, we do too. We are absolutely thrilled at the outcome. If you buy a roll of this adhesive, tell them to keep the change, it’s worth every penny!

I was a bit skeptical about this adhesive transition strip material in terms of how it would look and whether it could be installed in a reliable fashion, but was pleasantly surprised. During a remodel a few years ago, we replaced the tile in the dining room, which connects to the entryway. The tile installers replaced the transition strip between the tile at the front of the house and the parquet floors in the great room. It never felt stable, and over the years it has slipped and buckled. One reason may have been that it was a bit too chunky and susceptible to being kicked and knocked around by things like packages being moved around in the entry. I tried gluing, nailing; even a bit of tape, but it was frankly a mess. I went looking for traditional transition strips to install and came across this "easy" solution on Amazon. Glad I did. LIKES Overall quality - The product is just what it says -- a roll of heavy vinyl material with a woodgrain design and a strip on the back that can be easily peeled back to expose a strong adhesive. Installation - Even easier that I'd hoped. The material easily lays flat once unrolled (no residual curling to fight off). I cleaned the area thoroughly as instructed to give the adhesive a good surface to contact. Once laid in place, you can trim on the spot with a pair of scissors, and then pull the strip covering the adhesive away as you hold the strip in place. The strip comes off readily, so I didn't need to wrestle with it, pick at left over spots, or even move the strip from the floor. I just raised it bit off the floor and steadily peeled while laying the newly exposed adhesive back into place. The product is heavy enough that it will stay in place as you pull off the backing (we got the 3" version). Once the backing was all off, I laid some dumbbells and heavy boxes along it overnight, just as the contractors had us do with the wood transition strips. So far there is no sign of it lifting up anywhere, and this particular transition is perhaps extra demanding as the gap the tile people left is fairly substantial (perhaps 3/4"). And again, this is a high-traffic part of our house where the strip is going to be stepped on and objects dragged across it. The 3" was definitely the right choice. Looks - Examined carefully, you can see this is vinyl, but that doesn't bother us at all. Vinyl is actually a good choice for this application in a high-traffic area where a fiddly chunk of wood (as we discovered) may take too much abuse. This product has a durable, commercial quality to it. Value -- This strip feels robust enough to last for years, but at this price, we could replace it periodically if needed. I hope we don't, but if so, this is a pretty slick solution to the problem. Five stars -- This is a great solution for DIYers or anyone else who needs a quick, durable fix for transition strips.

I installed this transition strip in a high-traffic area in my house, and it’s held up really well. Install was pretty straightforward, and once it was down, it stayed put. If you’re looking for something that’s going to hold up over time, especially in areas that get a lot of foot traffic, this has worked out really well for me. ** It’s been almost 2 years now, and I haven’t had any issues with it popping up or coming loose. That was my biggest concern going in, especially with people constantly walking over it, but it’s stayed in place the whole time.** I hope this helps.

I really like this product. It actually matches a lot better in person than it seems in photos, but definitely wish they had more color options to match more accurately. It's thick and durable and stays in place well (once it's set). I decided to try it to cover the split between my living room and kitchen, and the floor height is slightly different. It was a little difficult at first to get it to stick. It kept popping up in spots but I was just going too fast. If you go slow and press each spot down for like 10 seconds, or put something in top to weigh it down, then it stays in place. I haven't had any issues with it since. It's really easy to roll/move things over and surprisingly has not moved and is super durable. Really great buy for the price.

Wow what a great product!! So I had an issue with trying to find a 7ft transition strip. I went to all the hardware stores no Luck !!! So I really gave up on finding one. McGregor.Not only does this work great it looks great!?

Game changer. My puppy decided to tear up the carpet and there were pieces of sharp fragments sticking out and hurt if you stepped on them. Covered it with this and problem solved. It’s a great solution to not have a whole carpet or flooring replaced. Easy to put down seems to stick well right now. It has a good thickness as well. The color seemed slightly off but I’m still satisfied with the product.

It had held up in a busy traffic area for about a year for us so far and has not started to peel off at all. It was super easy to install and it’s just thick enough that you don’t trip on it like other ones. Comes clean with water. The ease of the different sizes helps with different sized gaps we have in our house from our laminate flooring.

Quality material and easy to cut and install. Provided a level transition from my tile floor to my wood floor and covered the slight gap between the two. The color blended perfectly with my wood floor.

The color is more brownish than gray but still looks good and stick very well even on slightly uneven surface. A pair of scissors or knife can cut it easily. Will it stick long term idk If not I'll comeback and edit my review
