Outstanding landscape photography workshop (in book form)
After enjoying several Dawn2Dusk workshops run by Ross Hoddinott and Mark Bauer, I was hoping that the Landscape Photography Workshop book would be equally enjoyable and informative. I was not disappointed and the book combines beautiful and inspiring pictures, with straight forward and clearly presented advice. Having purchased several of Ross' books on previous occasions ( Digital Exposure Handbook , The Digital Photographers Guide to Filters: The Complete Guide to Hardware and Software Filtration and Digital Macro Photography ), Ross and Mark have produced a well designed and informative "workshop" which take you through a range of considerations from equipment to creative assignments. The quality of the printing and binding is also good. The chapters cover a comprehensive range of topics: Equipment, Exposure, Composition, Lighting, Filtration, Types of landscape, Advanced Technique, Post-processing, Printing and Creative assignments. An excellent addition to your bookshelves for photographers of all abilities.

I bought this book as a present for my husband who is a very keen photographer. He loves and finds it very useful.

Good concise guide
This book provides a good concise guide to Landscape starting with the basics - the camera and what gear you need. It is easy to read, from the ground up in its approach and assumes nothing in respect of the reader's knowledge/experience so there may be a lot some might know or be aware of but the authors start at the beginning and work their way up. At the end of the day if one knew everything that was in this book one would know a lot and yet there is always something else to learn or to tweak, learning and the application of knowledge in all things is an on going process.

At last I understand hyperfocal distance :)
I've been serious about digital photography for two years now, working manually, and trying to learn by taking thousands of photos. I have over thirty excellent books on photography on my shelves, but my knowledge of photographic techniques is still very patchy because so many authors assume too much knowledge on the part of the reader and I simply don't understand what they're talking about much of the time. I need to know how and why things work; not just which combination of buttons to press. For instance, I've read so many books and web pages trying to understand hyperfocal distance without result in the past, but the authors of this book managed to explain it so succinctly and so clearly that I was left wondering how other writers could make it seem so complicated. This book covers so much that I previously only half-understood and is filling in all the gaps in my knowledge. I know that this is going to help me take much better landscape photos because I'll know so much more about what I'm doing when I next stand behind a camera. I will be recommending this book to friends starting out with landscape photography as the very first thing they should read. The photographs are inspiring and the entire book is motivating for beginners and more experienced photographers alike. I'm off now to look at more books by these authors. I can't go on the workshops, so I'm very grateful that these books exist.

The best photography book i have ever read.
I own 15 books on photography, most of them on landscape. This is the only one that explains everything you need to know, yet is simple to read. It covers everything from gear to techniques and post-process! It has many inspiring photos in it. The information on what type of lens you should use is great. It doesn't only mention wide-angle lenses as other books do! HIGHLY recommended. PS The price is also great, a true bargain!

Perfect for developing my skills
I’ve been taking landscape photographs for a few years now, just as a hobby, and largely bumbling along. I wanted to learn more and take my photography up a gear. This book is perfect, and very helpful for me - especially the sections on filters and advanced techniques.

Good for beginners only.
Went for this book after reading all the reviews on here and i was mislead to be honest. So i hope this review will help prevent someone else buying this book on the basis of other reviews. It is a book for beginners in landscape photography and offers absolutely nothing to anyone with some experience. If you are new and looking for good advice then go for it. It covers all the basics in detail. But don't make the mistake I made and waste money on a book that offers nothing to learn.
