Hawaiian Solo Papaya Seeds

Papaya seeds are not rare, so 25 seeds in a pack is a joke. I live in Dominican Republic and have wild papaya growing in my yard. These seeds did not germinate. Not one. Word of advice? Do not even think of buying these seeds unless they are willing to put a lot more seeds in a pack. Want to grow papaya? Buy a fruit and plant the seeds yourself. I have done it. Read about them first and read about the issues people have with them.

It took so long in comparison with my other variety of papaya seeds. These look old and too dry. But, hey! At least i got three seedlings. No, wait, one died almost immediately. The leafs were always folded. Anyways. This has been the hardest to grow and keep alive, in comparison with my other seeds and seedlings from other sellers. If at least one of the plants gives any fruits i'll update.

More seeds than I expected and tried starting seeds 3 different times. Though I have a green thumb and have grown papayas before in Hawaii and Florida, though I followed their printed instructions all three times I tried, only one seed out of all sprouted...finally. In the meantime, I went to a local nursery here in Southern California, and ordered a Sunrise Papaya plant. It is now about 4.5 feet tall and doing quite well. Disappointed in the seeds I purchased and only hope with TLC the one that did sprout and is now 2 inches tall will fully grow.
