Inkbird ITC-1000 Temperature Controller Thermostat 220V Temperature with Sensor

So the STC-1000 is a great little thing that I use to control a fridge for homebrewing beer (and with the addition of an SSR, controlling heating elements), though they are also popular for fish-tank temperature controls and I've even seen them used for curing meats, making cheese and making a pseudo-sous vide controller for a slow cooker. If any of those things are of interest to you, I highly recommend it. For less than £20, you would be hard pushed to find a more useful temp controller. The real joy with this one however is (as of Mid August '14 when I purchased it) it contains the v1.0 circuit board inside it which has accessible headers to reprogram the firmware with a custom version that massively enhances its capabilities. The firmware I flashed (google for STC-1000+) increases the level of functionality by leaps and bounds. It does require an Arduino (just for the flash, borrow one off someone if you only need it for this) and some soldering skill but now it not only controls temperature but supports pre-programmed profiles, adds a temperature ramping feature, fine control of temperature hysteresis, selectable temperature units (Fahrenheit or Celsius) and the ability to correct for errors in your temperature probe. Most of this stuff is usually only found in £100+ controllers! Obviously these aren't' marketed for this upgrade and there is no guarantees that you will get the right board as all units look identical on the outside, its only the stamp on the actual board that tells the version. Stll, on its own, the STC-1000 is great for controlling temperature, whatever purpose you need it for. The ability to add the 1000+ firmware makes this one a solid choice for brewers. Why pay more for less?

This is my second unit used mainly to control fermentation temperature of home made wines. I fitted my previous one into a simple wooden box, added a switch to change between heat or cold and three pin socket, mains lead etc. You could easily fit two sockets instead of the changeover switch. Four stars is because the setting instructions are quite confusing (though better than my previous one). The wiring diagram is however easy to understand and the terminal connectors are safe behind a plastic cover and of good quality.

purchased 5 of these for a project. Instructions are a little bit strange, basically just a poor translation I guess... OK when you read them two or three times. If you don't understand electricity and electrical safety then these are not for you. System module, not a finished consumer product. Must be mounted in a properly insulated electrical box, or behind a control panel. Retaining clips are a bit flimsy.. I mounted my controllers in 2mm sheet steel, with a close fitting aperture and mounting was firm enough. Internal 240 volt transformer should give longer life than the usual switch-mode PSU. PCB mounted terminal blocks need to be loosened off before you insert your cable. Do not over tighten terminals, you will rip the PCB track. No Hysteresis setting/adjustment available N/O "Heating" relay stays energised until set point reached. N/O "Cooling" relay cuts in at another set point. Maximum difference between set points 15 deg C small plastic sensor about the size of a rabbit poo. Sensor is NTC (10k i think) type, not compatible with PT1000 sensors. Sensors had a silicon like feel to the cable, but they my not be durable at high temperatures... I would not risk using them if regularly above 60 degC. Waterproof ? Calibration adjustment available in software. I used a std Ice bath for calibration, units were within 0.1 Deg C out of the box. All 5 units tracked each other within 0.1 deg from 0-60C LEDs clear and easy to read, always on, no dimmer.

I bought this to manage the temperature of my home brew beer. I use a heating strap but without some sort of regulation the brew temperature is either too high or too low. Once I'd figured out how to set it up this works excellently and my finished brews taste better. They also clear down in the bottle faster. My only small gripe is that the instructions are very difficult to understand, prehaps they have been through two language translations? Also a small point is that because of the limitations of 7 segment display, the letters appear in lower case so that Temperature Set listed as TS in the manual appears as t5 on the display. It confused me anyway! There's also a calibration setting that is not explained but appears to work as an offset to the set temperature. For the money this is a great device, well worth it, once you've penetrated the manual!

Great product that gives good control and accurate readings, though frustratingly the relays can only deal with 10 amps so its not a perfect device for me. I have looked at adding an SSR to the device but its not an easy modification as you need to cut traces and I can see it being unreliable. However for what it is sold as, it is a great temperature controller and does offer quite a lot of features (with even more available by upgrading the firmware if you really needed them). It is almost certainly worth buying this over a dodgy cheap chinese clone as when dealing with high current I can easily imagine the tracks burning out or something. You can feel a significant weight difference between the products and Im very glad I decided to use these ones instead.

It's a good product but it's fiddly to set up, so pay a little more and get a lot more...

It works - 'though it was a puzzle getting there! The instructions are not particularly clear (Chinese translation!) and the wiring diagram very easy to misinterepret - or I got it wrong first time round, anyway. I got the heater on permanently! Once I'd sorted that, the unit worked OK. It was giving slightly different readings to some stick-on thermometers, but they are not expected to be super accurate anyway. I only need it accurate to within a couple of degrees so it looks like this will do the job. The back end where the wires go in needs taping to keep it safe and you need to be really careful that the power wires are neat with no stray strands - probably best to solder them before sticking them in the joint boxes.

Inoltre hanno dato mandato ai tecnici di controllare l'intero lotto di termostati al quale apparteneva il mio. Questo è indice di grande serietà dell'azienda. Un prodotto fallato può sempre capitare ma non è da tutti i venditori gestire la situazione in maniera cosi professionale. Riguardo al prodotto posso dire che fa egregiamente il suo lavoro. Usato per una cella di lievitazione casalinga in abbinamento ad un cavetto riscaldante per terrari mantiene la temperatura nel range stabilito. Il prodotto arriva con un manuale di istruzioni in inglese ma è molto semplice e intuitivo. Comunque in rete si trovano vari tutorial. In breve ci sono 4 pulsanti: 1. Il pulsante di accensione/spegnimento, 2. Il pulsante "S" di settaggio, con le seguenti opzioni: - TS (Temperature Set Value) - Impostazione Temperatura desiderata (Es. 22,0 C°). - DS (Difference Set Value) - Impostazione differenza di temperatura, questo valore (Es. 0,5 C°) indicherà al termostato lo scarto accettabile, rispetto alla temperatura desiderata, prima che il termostato si attivi per riportare la temperatura al valore TS scelto, nel nostro caso le temperature accettabili andranno da 21,5 - 22,5. - PT (Compressor Delay) - Tempo di ritardo del compressore, imposta il ritardo, espresso in minuti (Es. 3 min), per far partire il circuito che gestisce l'elemento raffreddante. - CA (Temperature Calibration Value) - Calibrazione della temperatura, serve per un' eventuale calibrazione di una nuova sonda se ci fosse la necessità di cambiarla. - CF (Fahrenheit or Celsius Setting) - Permette di scegliere se i gradi visualizzati sono Celsius o Fahrenheit, il temostato arriva già impostato per i gradi Celsius. 3. Freccia "Su" per spostarsi verso l'alto tra le opzioni del menù, 4. Freccia "Giù" per spostarsi verso il basso tra le opzioni del menù. Una volta acceso il termostato riporta la temperatura ambiente, per effettuare i settaggi basterà seguire questi semplici passi: 1. Tenere premuto il pulsante "S" per più di 3 secondi in questo modo l'indicatore inizierà a lampeggiare e sul display verrà visualizzata la prima opzione ovvero "TS", usando le freccie Su e Giù si possono scegliere le altre opzioni, 2. scelta l'opzione (Es. TS) premendo di nuovo il pulsante "S" si entrerà nella modalità di settaggio e il valore del paramentro inizierà a lampeggiare, 3. usando le freccie Su e Giù si può impostare il valore desiderato del paramentro (Es. 22,0 C°), 4. cliccando nuovamente il pulsante "S" si uscirà dalla modalità settaggio e premendo le freccie Su e Giù si possono scegliere gli altri paramentri da impostare, 5. dopo aver impostato tutti parametri dsiderati cliccando sul pulsante di accensione verranno salvate tutte le nuove impostazioni e il display visualizzerà la temperatura attualmete rilevata, premendo la freccia Su il display visualizzerà la temperatura desiderata (quella impostata con il paramentro TS), premendo la freccia Giù il display indicherà la differenza tra la temperatura desiderata e quella ambiente rilevata dalla sonda.

J'ai commandé ce produit pour un aquarium, 2 en faite donc 2 thermostats ! Par contre au niveau branchement électrique, j'ai regardais un peu sur internet et honnêtement Messieurs les soient disant bricoleurs, il y en a un bon nombre qui ferait mieux de s’abstenir de poster ces horreurs, dominos, chatterton, fils inadaptés et autres bêtises " l'Electricité n'est pas à prendre à la légère et n'est pas un jouet non plus " Même si j'ai eu un papa électricien et un grand père électricien haute tension, je ne le suis pas moi même.

Perfecto, utilizado en un congelador para un perfecto control la temperatura con precisión. -2° para cerveza, refrescos y demás bien frío o -20° para congelar según mis necesidades con solo ajustar la temperatura en el display. Muy fácil de instalar las conexiones, y en mi caso no he anulado la electrónica del mismo ya que en el frontal también me indica la temperatura, aunque si se ha anulado el buzzer de la alarma.

habe es jetzt 6 monate in gebrauch und kann nichts negatives zu sagen macht was es soll. in dem heißen sommer perfekt kühleransteuerung und im winter gute heizregelung. benutze es für mein aquarium mit dem beigefügten sensor. alle parr monate mal die temperatur extern kontroliert und bis jetzt alles top.
