Five Stars: Perfect Fit, Unbeatable Value, and Fast Shipping!
I am extremely pleased with the SafeAMP UPS 9Ah, 24VDC VRLA Battery Replacement (compatible with APC APCRBC124). First off, the delivery was incredibly quick—it arrived a couple of days sooner than expected, which was a welcome surprise since my old battery had completely died. Installation was a breeze. The unit was a perfect fit for my APC UPS enclosure, aligning exactly with the terminals and clips. There were absolutely no issues reported during the swap-out; the UPS immediately recognized the new battery, performed a calibration test, and is now reporting 100% health and runtime. Choosing this SafeAMP replacement was a brilliant decision. The cost savings compared to purchasing an entirely new UPS unit are substantial. It offers a much better value and keeps reliable hardware out of the landfill. Highly recommended for anyone needing to breathe new life into their existing battery backup system!

Perfect Replacement – Works Like the Original
I bought this SafeAMP UPS battery replacement for my APC unit (APCRBC124), and it has been excellent so far. Installation was simple—the connectors lined up perfectly, and the build quality feels solid. Once installed, my UPS immediately recognized it without any issues. Performance has been reliable. I tested it by simulating a short power outage, and the backup time was exactly what I’d expect from a brand-new battery pack. The charge holds well, and there’s no sign of overheating or swelling after several weeks of continuous use. Considering the price compared to OEM replacements, this is a fantastic value. You get the same reliability without overpaying. If you need a dependable UPS battery replacement, I highly recommend this one. ✅ Easy installation ✅ Works seamlessly with APC UPS ✅ Great value compared to OEM

Working Replacement
Works as a replacement battery and hasn't failed me for a whole year. Easy switch to just undo the bottom cover and then pull the old ones out and put the new ones in. No wiring needed at all.

UPS 9Ah, 24VDC VRLA Battery Replacement
Battery fits perfect but it did not come fully charged. Very easy to install which only fits one way. Only time will tell if the batteries will last. The originals lasted around 3 years.

Works perfectly in my older APC UPS.
The dimensions given (8"x6"x3") are correct, but slightly misleading. Had it truly been 3" wide across the entire length of the unit, it would not have fit my older APC unit, but the only part that's 3" wide is the row of 3 tabs down the center (which I assume are on the connector locking the two individual cells into the single unit that goes into the UPS). The remainder of the battery is 2.5" wide, which means it is precisely the same dimensions as the battery I was replacing and it fit perfectly. As others have mentioned, it's necessary to "train" the UPS so that it knows the capacity of the new battery (let it fully charge, put a load on it - I used a 200W incandescent light bulb - and unplug it from the wall until it runs down). I haven't been using it long enough to comment on lifespan and durability. If I see anything noteworthy I'll update this review in the future, but so far I'm completely happy and intend to buy another for a second older APC unit I have. It even has a slightly higher rated capacity (9 Ah vs 7 Ah) than the old battery.

Perfect Replacement
The battery came with a full charge and inserted into my APC UPS perfectly! Way better option than replacing the whole UPS and less expensive than a direct replacement from APC.

Works great after UPS is recalibrated!
The RBC123 (7Ah) battery that came with my APC BR1300G purchased in March 2020 failed after exactly five years in March 2025, when the UPS began audibly switching into charge mode every few seconds while the battery heated up the entire chassis (only 8 minutes of estimated run time remaining with 100% charge for a 30W load). I ordered this SafeAMP RBC124 (9Ah) equivalent battery for next day delivery and had no trouble hot-swapping by simply tipping the UPS on its side, removing the bottom cover, pulling out (thus unplugging) the old battery, and pushing (thus plugging) in the new battery (the red sticker says, "LIFT AND PULL TABS" but should not be removed as it and the green sticker on the other side hold the two modules together). After 12 hours with the new battery, the UPS still showed only 8 minutes of estimated run time remaining with 100% charge for a 30W load, so I performed the calibration procedure clearly documented on the APC web site (FAQ answer FA284198). The PowerChute software is not necessary (or even available for MacOS). Here are the steps I followed using incandescent light bulbs for a stable load: 1. Disconnect the Ethernet cable so the computer won't interfere as the battery gets low. 2. Disconnect all critical loads from the UPS since they will lose power and shut down ungracefully when the battery is depleted. 3. Attach at least a 30% load that does not fluctuate more than +/- 5%. THIS IS IMPORTANT! 4. Unplug the UPS from utility power so it operates on only battery power. 5. Allow the UPS to run on battery power until it turns off completely (the UPS fan will switch off after the load drops). ***NOTE: If the stable load is not at least 30% or if the procedure is ended before the UPS drops the load, it will not calibrate properly! 6. Disconnect the stable load, reconnect the critical loads, plug the UPS back into the wall outlet and allow it to recharge. While recalibrating, the UPS ran far longer than 8 minutes before shutting off (since the UPS based that estimate on the old, failed battery), and after 12 hours it showed 100% charge with estimated time remaining consistent with the Run Time Graph on the APC web site page for the BR1300G. Success! Some reviews claim that this battery arrived dead or defective, so perhaps steps to recalibrate the UPS should be included in the package for awareness and to avoid unnecessary returns...

Good so far.
So far so good. The last one of these I bought lasted for five years, so hopefully this lasts the same.

Good as new
Ended up getting a free UPS from work because the battery was dead. This was half the price of a full unit, slot in great and works as good as new.
