The capacity of these cans is great. The rectangular design makes them space-saving and far less obtrusive than alternatives. They open and close easily with a foot press and have a removable inner shell that allows for easy cleaning. I bought two – one for trash and one for recycle. I love the modern design and shows white, which blends in to the wall color. They contain food smells well and have held up exceptionally well in a family that gives them a lot of use. Only downside: the metal will dent if you kick it or bump it into a wall.

The trash can is very nice, but they shipped it in the box it sits in on store shelves and it is NOT A SHIPPING box. So of course it arrived damaged. Had a dent on one corner side, I did reach inside and pushed the dent out which made it better, but still saw the dent. The seller, Gorenca, would not discount the damaged can and I am not going to pay well over $100 for damaged goods. Sellers comment was that they would be contacting UPS... it is NOT UPS's fault! I am returning and ordering from a different seller and actually found it cheaper, maybe they will package it? Now about the trash can... I would not say it is for small spaces. It is not huge, but I would not say it is small. One reason it is a bit large is because the part that the liner fits in actually sits inside the can. My old one, the liner showed and was ugly with a white bag hanging out.. with this liner fitting all the way inside the can, and the lid nestles inside the frame, I am hoping that the dog will not be able to lift it and get into the trash. Operates nicely with the quiet closing lid. I think I saw reviews about stickers... but this can had no stickers on it.

Great look and design

Third update 6/22/20: My third replacement trashcan broke today. Same place. That little plastic piece on the bottom simply cannot stand up to repeated pressure & tension after repeated (normal & gentle) use of the foot pedal. I contacted Kohler and they are sending out my fourth trashcan. Again, I asked if Kohler is aware of this problem and asked if anything had been done to fix the issue. The chat person helping me said they had not done anything but requested additional photos (this is the third time I have sent photos) and said she would forward them to the engineering department. I have no idea if this will make any difference, but I have to think that repeatedly asking them to honor their 10 year warranty and put up with waiting on new trashcans every few months has a better chance of alerting Kohler engineers to a problem than just giving up and switching to a different brand. *shrug*Tips for new buyers: make sure you register your purchase with Kohler so you can get replacements when the little plastic piece on the bottom fails. They are very good about shipping out replacements promptly. Take photos of the break and make noise. Maybe if more people are complaining, they will eventually get this issue fixed.Second update: The replacement trashcan broke after a little over a month. Kohler promptly sent out another, but when I asked if there were any plans to fix the weak plastic part that breaks on the bottom, they didn't answer. These are guaranteed for ten years if you register your product, so I guess I'll just get a new trashcan every 1 - 2 months? Seems like such a hassle and waste as I don't know what to do with the broken bins. Hopefully they are working on this weak point.Update: I contacted Kohler directly about the broken foot pedal and they sent me a whole new trashcan right away. I'm leaving off one star because the new trashcan has the same plastic part on the bottom that looks like it could break easily, so we'll see how this one holds up. The good news is, these have a ten year warranty if you register your purchase with the company. So far my experience with Kohler has been absolutely stellar.Original review: I love this trashcan. I was ready to spend more on the Simply Human kind, but was drawn to this one after a ton of research because it accepts regular trash bags, but still conceals them. Mine arrived without any dents and looks great in my kitchen. I loved the hands-free opening mechanism and the soft close. I lovingly wiped it down every night with stainless steel spray and a microfiber cloth after my nightly kitchen clean up.After two months and one week of reasonable, light use, the foot pedal mechanism stopped working. It would only open part way if I pressed one side of the pedal, and not at all if I pressed the other side. I removed the trash bin inside to see if I could tell what was wrong. When nothing seemed amiss, I carefully flipped the can over and found the broken piece beneath. A little bit of plastic has broken right off, allowing a metal rod to pop through. This molded bit of plastic appears to keep the rod in place and allow the foot pedal to function. Once it's broken, the lid will no longer open and close properly.I'm extremely disappointed. I've written Kohler to see what their response might be. I will update this review favorably if they send a replacement part or a new trashcan. I hope they have fixed this weak point in the design, because otherwise, the trash can is absolutely wonderful.
