Rockville REQ42-B Black 19" Rack Mount 2 x 21 Band Graphic Equalizer EQ

Of course, this is not the best of the home equalizer I have owned. This is the cheapest of them as I paid a lot more for the other ones. Simply, it does its job and I like it. Too many bands to adjust compare to my old ones (I still have one of them in use), therefore it is just a matter of practice to get used to that many controls to adjust. The spectrum analyzer is just an indicator of the input level not by frequencies but the overall sound, that is why it moves all the bars the same way always but it really responds to the overall sound input level. Another thing, most of the superior equalizers for sale, are more suitable for PA systems not necessarily for your home system but this one is. Even some people criticized the instruction manual, I don't need any kind of instructions to set up an equalizer to my home system, it is so basic. Recommended product for those who don't want to spend a lot of money and have some kind of experience in setting home stereo equipment instinctively, no instructions.

Great product, work great

Following the precise directions in the user manual for this Rockville equalizer, it did NOT allow any configuration that allowed either my brand new phonograph, or my dual cassette Tape deck to work with this equalizer. I was able, I think, to get my CD player to work when connected But due to the MORONIC and useless constant EQUALIZER screen digital flashing that occurs as soon As you turn this unit on and which persists regardless of whether you have any music playing – which is UNBELIEVABLY FREAKING STUPID – I have no way of knowing if the equalizer is actually being applied to the CD being played. Furthermore, when I connected a external mp3 player to the mp3/aux port on the Front of the Rockville unit – that did also NOT WORK. Zero sound. This product is piece of pure garbage and I strongly advise against ANYONE purchasing it.

This is not a normal EQ setup. It has no line in line out tape playback/ tape record. Instead yo hook your components straight into the EQ. The there are 2 sets of outputs. I have one going to my amp and the other to a cassette player on a old analog system. I also added a bluetooth reciever to it and it works great. The problem with this is the dumbest stupidly engineered fake spectrum analyzer! What in the hell were they thinking? It pretty much does whatever it wants? Changes colors changes position from normal bottom up to top down? Dumbest thing Ive ever seen! And no way to change or control it? Other than that BS it works fine and sounds ok for what Im using it for. Adjusts the sound just fine. And only 70 dollars. Im good with it.

I bought a pair of bookshelf speakers to use with my computer, and the bass and treble control didn't give me any range, (the base all the way up or down sounded the same). This was easy to hook up and does the job probably too well, meaning that 21 bands is a little overwhelming, but in my case I only had to set it up once. I'm happy with this purchase, the only downside to me is it has to be on to get any sound, (the display not the equalizer, the equalizer can be turned off or on), however my speakers have two sets of speaker jacks, so I hooked up line one to the computer and line two to the equalizer, hope this helps.

A liitle bit of extra noise added to the signal path. Not a high end product. Short throw on the EQ sliders make it hard to adjust. Overall it works well, and happy with it so far.

be careful when ordering to a country where 240v is valid, because this device is 110v, it exposed me to an unplanned purchase of a 240v to 110v converter. Of course, the description does not say anywhere what voltage the device is designed for. Regards
