From the Publisher Review: Another great read from Colleen Hoover - Hopeless is a solid, engaging book - well-written and easy to get lost in. Fans of Colleen Hoover will enjoy her signature storytelling, and it makes for a compelling, enjoyable read. A dependable choice for anyone who enjoys contemporary romance and drama. Review: Hopeless was Hopeful :) - 17 year old Sky lives with her Mum Karen and has lived a pretty sheltered life due to her being home schooled and her mums dislike for technology. As her best friend Six puts it, she makes the Amish look trendy!! After much persuading from Sky and Six Karen allows Sky to experience her final year of education in a mainstream high school. A chance encounter with another student Dean Holder at has Sky feeling things she never thought possible, and memories she thought were lost begin to resurface. Holder has his own issues and secrets and at times scares Sky but then at the same time she can't stop herself wanting to be with him. When Holders secrets start unraveling some startling truths are revealed which for Sky mean her life will never be the same again!! One of my book friends wrote that reading a Colleen Hoover book is an emotional experience because she builds you up, tears you down and then builds you back up again!! This is my first Colleen Hoover book and I couldn't agree with my friend more. The story builds you up and started out making me think it was a coming of age book, I expected a girl who has lead a sheltered life being shown a sample of the real world with it's cruelness and beauty. The characters were perfection, I instantly liked Sky she was cute, funny and quirky. Her best friends Six and Breckin were amazing side kicks bringing that light relief and comic timing to certain situations. Holder, WOW!! *swoon* !! I feel like he needs his own review. He was a perfect mix of perfection and bad boy. Whilst he was flawed himself he always said the most perfect things. He made me wish he was real and I was eighteen again, I live you Holder :) "Let me inform you of something," he says in a low voice. "The moment my lips touch yours, it will be your first kiss. Because if you've never felt anything when someone's kissed you, then no one's ever really kissed you. Not the way I plan on kissing you." The chemistry between Sky and Holder jumped of the page, I loved them together. The love scenes between them were so real, tender and emotionally charged which made them even more special and OMG the non kiss was pure sizzle!! The story tears you down as secrets are revealed and pasts are realized it brought out all kinds of emotions in me as a reader. One minute I was OMG ing, the next I was crying and then I was hopeful. The story builds you back up again but not by putting a pretty bow on the top and saying they live happily ever after but by giving hope they are survivors and you leave them with the feeling they will get through it all, and to be honest I was left feeling a little inspired by these beautiful characters. "I'm not going to wish for a perfect life. The things that knock you down in life are tests, forcing you to make a choice between giving in and remaining on the ground or wiping the dirt off and standing even taller than you did before you were knocked down. I'm choosing to stand up taller" My only complaint would be that there was no epilogue and I'm a total sucker for a epilogue. I felt so invested in all the characters I just wanted more!! Maybe a tiny glimpse into the future so I knew they were all going to be ok :) Before you start reading this stunning book I would like to give you some advice. Clear your day, once you start this book you will not want to put it down!! I would also recommend you have tissues and chocolate handy :)

Enjoyable Read
I really enjoyed this book it was written well and the story was interesting. It was a real rollercoaster of emotions and the development of the relationship between Sky and Holder was lovely, Holder was perfect ( but not in that oh look all the women love him he's so gorgeous, but he only has eyes for me ...like some many in this genre), Sky was strong female charector (which is rare in romance type books) I've given it a 4 out of 5, because this rating system is hard to judge, it would really be good if you coould rate in accordance to genre aswell, because if i was comparing it to other YA/romance type books then it would be a 5. However because its against all type of books its a 4 maybe even a 3.5 for those who prefer more than escape in their reading. I would really recommend this book if you like the genre.

Hopeless
Great book. Grilling storyline about child abuse but that true love can win through. Easy to read and well written.

Literary genius
This was a wonderful read. It did have a good ending to some extent, but since finishing I've felt 'down in the dumps' and feel a little sad. The book is so jam packed full of strong emotions and darkness that I feel like I need a happy read to go to. Colleen Hoover is an absolutely incredible writer. I read Slammed and POR months ago and still think about them regularly. When I heard she was releasing a new book, as a stand alone, I knew I needed to get it as soon as I could and I wasn't disappointed. The story starts out with a 17 year old Sky starting out a new high school. Everything about it is new to her as she has never attended any type of school before. She doesn't own a mobile phone, there is no TV in her house and she's never had access to the internet. To say she's coming from the dark ages would be an understatement! She lives alone with her adoptive mother Karen. Just the two of them. After school one day she meets Holder, the beautiful, amazing Holder, who changes her life completely. She fights her feelings for him, she seems to think he is bad news but regardless of all that her attraction is too strong. Soon things start to unravel around Sky and all of a sudden she's left wondering who she really is. Every person in her life she thought she could trust, suddenly seems not so trustworthy. She has to make some life changing decisions that could potentially rip everything away from her that she has ever known. I felt everything in this book. Like I said, I ended it feeling very sad. I shed a few tears and just reveled in these feeling, it takes a great author to pull those emotions out of me and Colleen managed it perfectly. It wasn't always an easy read but I am so glad I read it. This was without a doubt my favourite quote in the whole book, and so so true. "It's real, Six. You can't get mad at a real ending. Some of them are ugly. It's the fake happily ever afters that should piss you off." I think sometimes we forget whilst reading that you don't always need a soppy HAE. Life isn't always that way and Colleen gave us a subtle reminder of that with Hopeless.

I stayed up reading this book until 5:30 in the morning because I could not put it down. I slept for awhile and then went right back to it. I simply loved this book. From the beginning of this story I was hooked. It didn't take a number of chapters for this book to get to me. When Sky was talking about Six's decision to become a foreign exchange student, I was so sad that she wouldn't have her bestie at her side for her first day of school. Then when Sky met Holder at the store, I just knew there was something more to the story. And I wanted to find out! The character development in this story was fabulous. I loved everyone in this story. Well, not EVERYone...you'll see what I mean. I admit that when we were first introduced to Breckin I was concerned that he was going to turn out to be Holder and he wasn't how I pictured at all! But when he turned out to be Breckin, he was perfect! I loved his candor and his attitude and the alliance stuff cracked me up. I don't want to fill this review with spoilers because I want everyone to just go out and read it for themselves. But I feel that I would be remiss if I didn't point out what I loved most about this book: **truly the "best first kiss" ever **loved the slight reference to The Sea of Tranquility **loved the gift of the ereader **loved the banter between Sky and Holder and their "insulting" texts **loved the trip to the flea market and the useless items **loved the reason behind his tattoo **loved that both of them are runners In summation, I loved this book! It made me feel happy and sad and anxious and furious. Sky and Holder were meant for each other and their connection was so natural and beautiful. I was rooting for them from the beginning. Holder was maybe a tad bit wise beyond his years but it worked. They worked. It's books like this that remind me why I love reading so much. This is my 80th book for 2012 and I think it's a great one to top off the year. It doesn't get any better than this. It's the kind of book that you don't want to put down because you have to know what happens next, but then when you finish reading you're a little sad that you're finished. I felt like that tonight. Then I remembered the "gift" Colleen Hoover left on her blog--a pivotal scene told from Holder's point of view! I was so excited to have a little extra piece of these characters to enjoy. Of course it was a definitely a yummy addition! I'd like to end with a word about Colleen Hoover. I think if we lived near each other, we'd be besties. I follow Colleen's blog and not only is she a fabulous writer, she seems to be a genuinely really terrific (and funny) person. I have found that authors can really endear themselves (or not!) to their readers by how they conduct themselves on social media. Colleen is a class act! I am so amazed by this woman. To think she came up with the idea for her first book only a year ago in November and now has three books under her belt. I am truly thankful for independent publishing and social media for making it possible to read Colleens fabulous words. She's definitely on my list of auto-buy authors! I cannot wait to read what she brings us next!

All I can say after reading this book is that Colleen Hoover never disappoints! She makes you go through so many pages as you turn the pages....it's such a beautiful journey, I literally have no words to describe how I feel! Hopeless was an absolute emotional roller coaster! It made me smile, laugh, blush, sob....and it's was fantastic! It's the kind of book you just can't keep down! It kept me up all nigh and I don't regret a moment. It's a pleasure to read such heart melting tale. A love story told so beautifully, it just touches your heart deeply! Kudos to CoHo for writing such brilliant stories! She's currently one of my totally favorite authors! Last but not the least, I LOVE YOU AMAZON! This book was supposed to take 1-3 weeks to get dispatched as its an imported one, but guess what?
