Hard to find part that solves my problem!
I needed this as an inline shutoff valve for a water filter. The water filter housing would leak when I changed the filter cartridge every 6 months, so shutting off the water solves this problem. Both sides of the valve inlet and outlet are 3/8” compression. I used one side as a female fitting and the other side a male fitting. I found the threads to be tight especially when used with teflon tape. I have no leaks. The ball valve is tight and stops the water flow. Water flow can go in either direction. Everything is quality. For less than $10, and not being able to find this part at a big box store, I am happy!

Leaks at compression fit
For this to work properly it would need to have a gasket included with the compression fit nut, it does not have this. While tightened to the max, it’s a metal on metal compression fit which will always leak. This will be returned.

Easy to Install
My bathroom toilet shutoff valve was no longer working and had little room to remove and replace it. Bought this 3/8 dual ended unit and removed flex hose to old valve, threaded on one end of the new shutoff valve and then connected flex hose to it. Works great.
