They are sharp, precise and well-made
Made in Japan these bypass pruning shears are exquisite. They cut thin wiry branches without getting hung up and they even cut branches up to a half inch sometimes more with ease. Love them so much I bought two pairs.

Sharp cutters
Sharp cutters work well. Built in latch keeps it safe.

Almost as good as their top rated (heavy duty) pruner
I have a husband who takes his frustrations with yard work out on my garden tools. Last year I found my favoprite pruner rusted, under a downspout. This year it was on the ground under a wet tarp. I came back to Amazon and ordered another of the Coronas I had been using for years, and it had rust just one week after I opened the package. That one is on it's way back. I read the article Amazon has links on the best pruners and decided to give the ARS a try. Since they are fairly expensive I decvided to get this one as a back up, so I never hand him my nice pruners. I took them both out in the yyard yesterday, and there is very little difference between them, which is surprising since these are half the price. The only notable differences are that this has slightly thinner handles and thicker blades. It is carbon steel, which means it should hold it's edge for a good long time, and also be rust resistant. They were very easy to use one handed, and required little force. I pruned my Pommagranite tree in minutes. I did not do as well with thick branches as my old coronas. Those I could use with branches up to an inch, maybe more (with multiple cuts). These were excellent up to a half inch or so, but I could not even get it around larger branches, and since I have quite a few... will probably be using my saw more than I did in the past. But, I live effectively in the rain forest, and have weeds which can grow over 30 feet in a season. Not many people (outside Hawaii) have to deal with that. I think these would be excellent for more routine gardening tasks. If you have trees to take out, at least go up to the 8 inch. These are, however, nearly indistinguishable from the 7x.

So far so good
These are nice, little pruners and very sharp. I do not use them for any heavy-duty pruning/clipping, so I can't comment on durability ore versatility.

Indispensible
I am a woman who loves to garden as well as a women gardener (by profession) but I am very small, including my hands. I have used these ARS pruners for nearly 20 years and stretch them beyond their limit when pruning fruit trees. They perform wonders. Felco, the standard of professionals, carries a version designed for small hands but those still have too great a span when fully open to fit my grip. The ARS "light" pruner will do more than you expect and can be sharpened over and over. Eventually the spring gives out and I've never located spare parts, but that is after much continuous service . If you don't work with the disability of tiny hands, you would still find these pruners invaluable and more convenient to use than a heavier model around the garden for dealing with the day to day needs of herbacious plants as well as shrubs. Anyone who borrows a pair from me for an hour or so returns them with exclamations of pleasure and praise..

Perfect for smaller branches
I like the weight and the sharp blades. I would have rather had the lock near the blade than at the end of the handles. They are just a bit smaller than I visualized, so they are more limited than my other pruners.

Great Weight and Balanced Pocket Pruners
These are my favorite pocket pruners! I have had 3 pairs so far and have lost some of them in my large garden. I keep re-ordering these because they are a perfect weight and are well balanced for moderate to small sized hands. I'm a 4'10 petite female. They don't feel light and cheap at all. They are conveniently sized so I keep a pair of these in my dog walking bag or back jeans pocket as we are often on wooded trails. I help to cut back the overgrowth to keep the trails passable plus I don't like getting scratched by blackberries. If only Amazon would carry these in any other color besides light tan. Maybe that's why they are so easy to lose in the garden they just blend in with the shrubs and soil...I once owned a red pair and purchased those from a garden center so I know they're out there. Come on Amazon start carrying these in different colors!

Love my ars shears
I am a professional event florist and use these shears for cutting my flowers as I am making arrangements. I have found the ars shears to be very comfortable to hold with a smooth handle that seems to fit perfectly in my right hand. I love the latch closure which helps me secure the blades closed for easy traveling in my bag to an event. They are very sharp when you first get them and can easily give a deep cut if you aren’t paying attention. Overall I think these are a great value. I have not figured out how to properly sharpen them so I end up purchasing a new pair every 5-6 months to get a nice sharp cut on my flower stems. They are definitely worth the price.

Por fin.
Tuve una hace casi 20 años, todavía la tengo aunque muy maltratada(de cortar mas gordo de lo que en teoría puede la tijera) POR FIN HE ENCONTRADO OTRA. No digo mas.

I got pink ones!
My absolute favourite clippers. I use them for cutting dahlia blooms all season long. They are the perfect size for my hand. I got pink which I wasn't too thrilled with. But not the end of the world. I recently lost them along the road after mistakenly forgetting them on our truck bumper. Hubby went to town and it never even crossed my mind. I ran down the road when I realized it and found them in the long grass and voila! thanks to them being pink I was able to see them laying there, scratched but worked like new. Was so glad to have found them back!

Parfait
Je connaissais ce sécateur qui est idéal pour un utilisateur qui a de petites mains. Le modèle n’a Pas changé. Il est toujours aussi bien.

PINK!
Quality same as other pairs. This pair had PINK handles. Certainly unique and easy to identify. Tough as boots 80 year old gardener recipient thought I was pranking him but once he used them all was forgiven.
