This replacement Amazon Fire TV Stick Controller is excellent, it’s so far advanced compared to our old one. It was very simply programmed to control our old television which is a bonus over the previous one just controlling Amazon functions. No batteries included. Two AAAs.

This Clone replacement Voice remote works well with my Fire TV Stick (3rd gen). Looks and feels much the same as the Amazon original and all buttons work as expected. Initially the "Power" and "Volume" didn't work with my Samsung TV but worked after a reboot. Note you can change the TV Brand via "Settings->Equipment Control->Manage Equipment->TV->Change TV". As mentioned by other reviewers the Fire Stick makes multiple seemingly random attempts to upgrade the Remotes Firmware with a pop-up message. This says not to touch any of the buttons and that it should take 1 - 2 minutes. However if left it just timeouts after about 5 minutes. If you look under "Settings->Remotes & Bluetooth Devices->Amazon Fire TV Remotes->Amazon Fire TV Remote *", for an original Remote there is a "Version" number, but for the Clone there isn't one. My conclusion is that the Clone has fixed firmware that cannot be updated so attempts to do so always fail and timeout, hence all the retries. However I can immediately dismiss the pop-up message using the back button without any adverse consequences. Annoying but not a show stopper. Hence 4 stars.Edit :- The remote for the Power, mute & volume functions uses infrared to communicate with your TV. It needs to know the TV brand to send the correct control signals and to have that information in its firmware. I tried this on a Blaupunkt TV and had to set the TV brand as described above before the volume buttons etc would work. Guess that the firmware updates are to extend the list of supported manufactures.

Quickly delivered, really good price. Works as it should, my old firestick remote had to have new batteries every 2 days, then just wouldn't work. Probably faulty from new. New one smashing it!!

They do the job but every so often they need pairing which is not straight forward according to the instructions. Also the volume buttons increase the volume crazy high and not one notch at a time.
