From Ron Lim — writer, traveler, and creator of @ronwritings, which amassed over 600,000 Instagram followers in under two years. No Idea What I'm Doing But F*ck It became a word-of-mouth phenomenon. No idea where I want to be. But I will keep going. At 22, Ron Lim packed his bags and bought a one-way ticket out of the only place he had ever lived. He had no destination in mind. He described the moment the plane took off — alone, going nowhere specific — as feeling not frightening but strangely liberating. And then he started writing. No Idea What I'm Doing But F*ck It is the book that came out of what followed: years on the road, figuring things out in real time, documenting the internal struggle of leaving everything familiar and discovering that the life you want is almost always on the other side of the thing you're most afraid to do. It is a book about uncertainty as a beginning rather than a problem — about what happens when you stop waiting until you're ready and simply go. The prose is short, direct, and undecorated — Ron writes the way you think at 2am in a city you've never been to before, honest and stripped down and unexpectedly clear. He writes about the exhaustion of overthinking, the gap between the life you're living and the one you can feel waiting for you, the specific loneliness of being in motion, and the slow realization that most of the things you were afraid of were simpler than you made them. The book doesn't tell you what to do. It tells you that not knowing what to do is not a reason to stay still. Readers describe it as the book that gave them the nudge they needed — the one they picked up before a big leap and found themselves underlining on every page. It is particularly resonant for anyone in their 20s standing at a crossroads: a degree finished, a job that doesn't fit, a life that looks right on paper but feels like someone else's. Perfect for readers who: Feel the pull of a different life but can't quite make themselves move toward it Are stuck between comfort and what they actually want, and need permission more than advice Are planning or dreaming about solo travel, a career change, or leaving somewhere that no longer fits Follow motivational and travel writing on Instagram or TikTok and want those words in a book Want a meaningful gift for a recent graduate, someone at a crossroads, or anyone who needs a push A Thought Catalog Books expanded second edition. The only book in its catalog written not about healing from the past, but about choosing the unknown future — and discovering the strange liberation of going anyway. Comparable to the work of Yung Pueblo and Charlotte Freeman, but grounded in travel, motion, and the specific restlessness of being 22 and knowing something has to change. Review: Raw, Real, and Remarkably Relatable! - The title and cover immediately caught my attention, prompting me to delve into its contents. I must admit, I'm impressed by the title's impact and how it perfectly aligns with the cover's vibe. This book comprises a series of brief writings authored by Ron Lin. His words delve into the essence of life, offering insights on living and learning that encourage deep reflection. Among these writings are numerous thought-provoking pieces that I found both inspiring and introspective. Additionally, there are some more straightforward ones that serve as gentle reminders of things we often overlook amidst the busyness of life. Overall, whether you're seeking a leisurely Sunday read, embarking on a journey of self-discovery, or contemplating making changes in your life, I wholeheartedly recommend this book. Review: Insightful - Good book, helpful to read whenever you need to take some time from the busy world.

Powerful words
The title and front cover got me intrigued so I had to see what it was all about. Firstly I have to say I admire the headline and how the front cover just reflects that lol This book is a collection of short writings by Ron Lin. Powerful words about life, living, learning - more so words that make you reflect on life. There a lot of thought provoking ones, which I found inspiring and just really made me think. Then there are some obvious ones we’ve lost sight about because life gets busy. Either way, if you are looking for a chill Sunday read, doing a bit of soul searching or want to make changes in your life - I would highly recommend this book

So so so motivating & inspiring
If motivation, inspo, or a nudge is what you’re after then I 100% recommended this book. I love poem books and for the exact reasons above, this is by far my favourite one. Personally I want to go traveling after graduation, and I cant imagine how scary it’ll be when the time comes but this book will no doubt remind me that we only get one life, and that nothing should get in the way if we want it enough. I also love how each poem could be used in multiple contexts -I can imagine how uplifting it would be after a break up, or in a slump, or you have a business idea that you’re too scared of starting - this book will definitely encourage and inspire you to get up off your ass and do something about it. Looking forward to see what else you publish in the future x

This book told me the words that I couldn't give to myself.
I think writing this book has been his best idea. This book is a need at this exact moment of my life (and for the rest of it now). I've been following him for some time on Instagram, his posts have always spoken to me. I have always been aware of the need for these changes in my life, but this book is the key to finally taking action. It gave me the talk that I couldn't give to myself. Thank you.

BUY IT!!!!!!
one of my new favorite books! read this when you’re slacking, feeling down, and/or doubting yourself. it is a powerful reminder of your inner strength and capabilities regardless of your external environment. i will be reading this every time i start to lean on innate negativity or believe in the worst. i love how motivating this book is without even trying to be. it’s just telling you what is true and finally making you come to terms with that truth. i love its effortless authenticity and the author’s vulnerability. i’m so grateful it exists and that i have the privilege to consume this delightful slap in the face. please please buy it! for your own sake! for the you that wants to give up on your dreams and the you that thinks they aren’t wonderful and deserving to have what you have and want what you want. for the part of you who keeps your inner passion burning. for the part of you who laughs and loves. that person deserves to know how special and talented they are, and this book will show them that and more.
